9.00	RED -COURT 1 BLUE - Court 2	SUNDAY- 1 lesson in morning Dan statemet MONDAY - .On the following days the parents of Madeleine, whom the deponent identified as Gerry and Kate McCann, scheduled 16 tennis classes, together and/or separately, at different times of the morning or afternoon, classes that were conducted by either him or by Georgina depending on their booking calendar. He relates that they spent most of the day within the OC resort, in the pool, also they went to the beach but they did not use any of the OC activities there, and they centered their attention on the developed activities of the resort, it being that the couple preferred, unquestionably, tennis. GEORGINA She relates it was one of the preferred activities of the McCann couple in that they had several lessons throughout the days and up to the date of the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, it being that the child also had a class, on Tuesday, 1 May (10-11h00), that class [in which] she was among a group of children was conducted by the deponent. JW - I came across a tourist called Curtis with his girlfriend whose name I do not know. He also knew Gerry from the tennis lessons. JW I got to know them on Monday, 30th of April 2007 when I arrived at the tennis lesson. I had booked lessons and believed that Gerry had done the same. I believe that Kate was with Gerry before the first lesson but did not play. Relative to the encounters between the 29th of April and the 3rd of May; I played against Gerry in the tennis lessons and we played a game outside the lessons together with two friends who made up part of his group. Kate was in the immediate area of the resort but the reason for our meetings was normally tennis. We got along well together. Jeremy first met Gerry at a tennis coaching session held by staff associated with the Mark Warner resort on the first Monday of their holiday (30/05/07). He found Gerry to be amicable and willing to chat. He paired with Gerry for part of the lesson and described him as “Good company if not a little gregarious”. He did not meet up with Gerry or any of the group again until Tues 1 May 07. This was again during a tennis session and it was at this time he met some of the group and realized that the people he met on the Plane were indeed part of the group. RAIN NO TENNIS JT May 10 About 2 May, the day before the disappearance of MBM, from memory, at 09h00 the deponent had a tennis lesson with Kate. Tuesday?	MO Rachael became I think unwell over the Tuesday night and was, erm, mostly sort of pottering about the apartment on the Wednesday.

The responsible adults at the time were Cat and Georgina (tennis instructor). Kate was, together with the deponent, watching the lesson of their respective girls. (WRONG DAY?Tuesday?)	MO Rachael became I think unwell over the Tuesday night and was, erm, mostly sort of pottering about the apartment on the Wednesday.
10.30	Court 1 DAN Matthew Oldfield	MO -4078 “Did you play tennis every day?” Reply “No, erm, no, I think, I think we tried to play tennis, because they two things, they do sort of organised lessons and we signed up for some lessons which got delayed for weather reasons later in the week, I can’t remember if we signed up for those straight away, because we didn’t do a group, we didn’t do a group lesson which we’d done, when did we do a group lesson, I don’t think we did, I think we just did, Rachael and I, erm, with, erm, with an instructor, because I think we felt we’d play sort of socially with everybody else and then we’d have, do some sort of private lessons rather than signing up all week. I’m not sure about that. I don’t remember playing any organised games with anybody else, I think we just had sort of three, sort of two or three, erm, proper tennis lessons”. 4078 “Do you remember when they were?” Reply “Erm, I know there was one on the last Thursday, because it got moved over from Wednesday, because Wednesday it rained and Thursday was a pretty decent day for weather, erm, so it would probably have been, if I’m thinking it’s three, it would probably have been Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, but I can’t remember”. 4078 “Okay”. RAIN NO TENNIS JT May 10th The witness left before the class (kids) ended, not recalling if KM left at the same time or later (WRONG DAY?Tuesday?
11.00	Court 1 DAN Matthew Oldfield	JT May 10th She went to the beach where she met DP and FP. She and other members of the group made the acquaintance of, in the course of their tennis classes, a lady called O., the deponent's husband, ROB, also knew the lady's husband named Rob from windsurf classes. The couple (Rob and O.) were also guests at the complex. That morning, after having been to her daughter's tennis class, the deponent went to the beach meeting Rob there. From what she knows, the couple Rob and O. have two children (a girl of 3 years and a younger child, not knowing if it was a boy or girl). She thinks they were Londoners. They were "normal" people. Tuesday?

12.00		JT May 10th While she was sailing, her husband stayed at home with Ev who was sick Tuesday?	MO Rachael became I think unwell over the Tuesday night and was, erm, mostly sort of pottering about the apartment on the Wednesday.
12.30	LUNCH	JT May 10 after the boat trip she was with her husband and girls, all having gone to lunch at the apartment of FP and DP. She is not sure but thinks that MO and RMO also lunched with them in the apartment Tuesday?	MO-The Wednesday, one of the days I went out with Russell and we just bobbed about on the kayaks because, and I think that was either a Monday or a Tuesday. When did I go back into the water, have I missed one. One of the days we were bobbing about on the water just sort of chatting at lunchtime”.

1.30			From MO's Rog: 4078 “Okay. So, by the Wednesday then, Rachael was pretty much confined to the apartment, if you like?” Reply “Yeah”. 4078 “And do you remember what you did that day?” Reply “Erm, I remember I went running with Kate at lunchtime, she’s quite a good runner, and we went out on the road all the way up to the main junc, erm, the sort of main road where you access Praia da Luz from and then back”. 4078 “What sort of distance would that be?” Reply “Erm, yeah, I think it’d be about three or four miles, maybe each way”. (1 hour?) 4078 “And you run, do you often run?” Reply “Erm, no, I don’t like it, but I quite like it on holiday when it’s a bit warmer and it’s not so bad on your joints and I quite like running on the beach, because it feels quite sort of Bay Watch and it’s kind of Californian”. 4078 “In your own mind, yeah”. Reply “Yeah, yeah, yeah, and then I woke up. But, erm, yeah, but, erm, no, she’s quite a good runner and I quite enjoy it every now and again, but, if it’s sort of unusual and you’re sort of exploring a bit”. 00.40.05 4078 “And how did”. Reply “I can’t remember how that came about”. 4078 “That is what I was going to ask”. Reply “Yeah, erm, it may have been that, because I think Kate might have run most days, because she was quite a keen runner, and it may just be that either I thought I’d go for a run and she was already changed, or I was changed and, or Gerry might have said that, erm, I’m speculating, it may just have been coincidence that we both got into running gear and then decided to run together”. 4078 “But you went on this route and are saying you found it quite hard to keep up?” Reply “Yeah, well, yeah, she’s quite a good runner”.

2.30	Adult Classic 2(Rescheduled) (GM?) Weinberger	GM rescheduled lessons before Kate (2.30-3.30) as Dan had prebooking at 3.30? JT May 10 - After lunch, after they took El to Kids Club, ROB went to the beach for a canoe class while she rested in the bedroom with Ev. After her daughter woke up she went with her to the children's play area ("slides") next to the pool. Tuesday?	2.45 Kate creche
3.00	Adult Classic 2(Rescheduled) (GM?) Weinberger	GM rescheduled lessons before Kate as Dan had prebooking at 3.30? JT May 10 - She doesn't remember, but as GM usually had tennis classes every afternoon, she thinks that he could have been on the court. As for KM, she does not know if she saw her during the afternoon. Tuesday?
3.30	Adult Classic 1(Rescheduled) (KM? with Georgina?) Dan Private	JEREMY WILKINS On Wednesday, 2nd May, I could see it was raining and the tennis lesson was postponed. It was re-scheduled for 2:30 pm. I found this out at a later date and missed the lesson. I arrived about five (5) minutes before the end and realized this fact. I saw the usual people at the tennis lesson. I then went back to my apartment.

SC: Ah ha.

DCF: On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, it says here that you got on well, that he communicated easily, he was fun, he talked to you about golf which was his favourite sport, that he wanted to improve his tennis during the week. On Sunday or Monday he twisted his ankle, but managed to keep on playing, and on Sunday morning he only played tennis with Kate, that you saw them both playing sport and they passed by you to the bar on the beach and this was Sunday or Monday at about mid day.

SC: Mmm, mmm.

DCF: And you saw both Gerry and Kate at the Tapas Bar on Sunday and afterwards on Thursday in the evening, apart from these occasions you just saw them in passing at the resort and you had no opportunity to get to know Kate'

SC: No.

JEREMY WILKINS

On Monday 30th, April, 2007 I joined the tennis lessons provided by Mark Warner, the tour operator. There were five pairs. There were 3 females and a male, I found to be Jerry.

As part of the lesson we were paired off together. We engaged on general conversation, mainly about tennis, and football. I got the impression that he was good company, gregarious and chatty. The tennis lessons longed about an hour. We were signed for four (4) lessons in total. I can’t recall if I saw Jerry again that day.

On Tuesday, 1st May, 2007 we again had a tennis lesson together. After the lessons, this time we had a game of doubles together with two friends of his! At this point I established that Jerry and his family had come along with a group of other families, four (4) in totals. The game longed about one hour and a quarter.

After the game we walked together with a third male called Russell or Matt, to pick the children up from the Mini-Club. This is a Creche provided by the holiday company.

We would take them there at 9 am (?!) every day, until 12:30pm. I realized that Jerry had three (3) children). A girl called Madeleine and 2 twins who were about two years of age. Madeleine was about three (3). This club would take threes (3) to five (5) years old. The Club was split into two (2) groups: the Sharks and the Lobsters. My son was in the Sharks group. I believe that Madeleine was in the Lobsters. I don’t believe that I saw the family again that day.

On Wednesday, 2nd May, I could see it was raining and the tennis lesson was postponed. It was re-scheduled for 2:30 pm. I found this out at a later date and missed the lesson. I arrived about five (5) minutes before the end and realized this fact. I saw the usual people at the tennis lesson. I then went back to my apartment.

I'm not sure of the time they were there. (Breakfast Millenium Wednesday)

The cleaner saw them inside the apartment when she saw the cot in their bedroom.

Her hours of work are from 10am - 6.00pm

. She remembers that when she entered the apartment (A), on Wednesday, that inside she came across the parents. After being allowed to enter, she carried out her work, as they had already left. While she was there, she did not come across any child, supposing that they were in the crèche; . 
. During the time she carried out her work, she remembers having seen, given the scenario presented, that the couple slept in the room opposite the entrance way, where she came across a children’s cot. This room gives access to an exterior garden which is called the ground floor, and to a veranda.

We don't know the time she entered but would have been during creche times (9am-12.30pm and 2.30pm-5.30p,

They were both there so it would not have been during tennis in the afternoon.

Gerry was rescheduled 2.30pm-3.30pm and Kate was 3.30pm-4.30pm

No confirmation they attended those lessons but if they had, it is unlikely that the cleaner would have seen them together in the afternoon.

Kate went running with Matt at 'lunchtime' according to Matthew.

So, by the (non scientific) process of elimination I would say that the cleaner saw Kate and Gerry between 10am and 11.30am

GM signed the twins into creche at 9.10am and Madeleine in at 9.30? so it seems they could have had breakfast BEFORE they took the children at 9.10am (leaving the Millenium at 9.00am for the 10 minute walk to the tapas and then returning with Madeleine to sign her in to Lobsters which does not sound logical to walk back when they could have dropped her before leaving)

or

They took the twins at 9.10am, dropped Madeleine off at 9.30? and went to the Millenium without the children, in which case Cecelia would not have seen Madeleine.

They would have returned to the apartment after 10am and before 11.30am to see the cleaner whe she arrived.

A lengthy way of getting to the probable/possible events of that morning!
