Probably an extraordinary emergency meeting - I would love to be a fly on the wall in that meeting! Can you imagine when they state \ realise how long their finance will last at this rate.

Maybe this is the reason for emotions starting to surface in McC camp and the frustrations that are being shown. For example ". . . Press are the only ones making money . . ."

I would also like to be there to hear when the different elements such as CM states that he wishes he could work for nothing but has bills to pay.

Incidentally what will CM do after this lot? I think he entered this game too late Justine took the money and ran, Esther seems to be abandoning . . . too busy working for an MBA and conservative role when we are talking about the hunt for a missing toddler does nobody else find that even remotely strange? A cause she was committed to?

Fund Update

Statement from the Board of Madeleine’s Fund- Leaving No Stone Unturned 09 January 2008

http://web.archive.org/web/20080110160713/http://findmadeleine.com/

Edward Smethurst and Jon Corner

BEGINS

‘There was a scheduled board meeting of Madeleine’s Fund today. We have reached a new longer- term phase in the search for Madeleine and we have reviewed how effective our Fund has been in pursuing its objectives. We agreed to continue our funding of the investigation to find Madeleine and we have decided to look at further media opportunities to support our search. To that end, we have invited two new directors to replace the two who stepped down, for business and personal reasons, We, together with Kate and Gerry McCann, extend our thanks to Esther and Phillip for their hard work and continuing support. We welcome Edward Smethurst and Jon Corner to the board to lend their expertise in commercial law and media.”

My, My.

Brian Kennedy of Latium is all over this, now.

He's supposedly picking up the 75,000 a month for Metodo; he's got Latium's Smethurst on board as a director (and Edward "directs" all of the legal teams), and Kennedy/Latium are paying for and lending to the Fund Clarrie.

If I were of a suspicious bent, I'd be inclined to think that the McCann's might be considering joining a Kingdom Hall in Leicester.

It is interesting they have invited a so called media expert and a commerce law expert on to the Board, if they really believed their own story about abduction by paedophile gang one would think they would want people who are experts on child abuse, investigative techniques etc As usual the only interest is making money.

It is also interesting to read on Gerry's blog that people are sending MASS CARDS ! Now I'm not a Catholic but I am 99% sure that these are only sent for DEAD people (masses are said for the soul of the deceased) Is Gerry finally admitting Madeleine is dead ?- he did not have to give us that info?

If you thought your child was alive you would be horrifed to receive Mass Cards!

Thanks, NoHiding. Metodo, at 125 grand a month are saying we'll find 'er and have 'er home for Xmas, and the unwashes masses are sending mass cards--and who do the McCanns believe (and they did raise 100,000 with the Xmas appeal)? Metodo, of course.

It seems that you send money with one of the mass cards

http://web.archive.org/web/20080110160713/http://www.bfranciscan.org/mass_cards.html

Two different Mass Cards are available for your use. You may select the Perpetual Memorial Mass Card (left) for someone who has died or you may choose the Gift of Prayer Mass Card (right) for someone who is sick, or is celebrating an anniversary, a birthday, a retirement, or any special occasion.

Remember…you make your offering only when you use the card. A small envelope will be provided for this purpose along with the Mass Card

Not Catholic, but for information purposes, I Googled "What are mass cards".
It seems they don't necessarily have to be for sent only for those deceased:

Mass Card

(thing) by ryano (2 mon) (print) ? 1 C! I like it! Mon Mar 26 2001 at 17:33:51

A Mass Card is similar to any other greeting card, except that it indicates that the recipient will be remembered in prayer, normally as part of a church service. As the name suggests, it is primarily a Catholic custom.

Here's how it works: you buy the card from a church, and supply the church with the name of the recipient, and the reason for sending. The recipient will then be one of the people the priest asks his congregation to pray for in a future service. You get a nice (albeit religious) card to send to your friend, your friend gets a bunch of prayers said on his/her behalf, and the church gets your money. Everybody wins!

Of course, it helps if all three parties to this transaction are practising Catholics. Mass Cards are most commonly sent as sympathy cards in times of bereavement, and their design generally reflects this, but a very religious person might use Mass Cards to mark any occasion, such as birthdays, wedding, graduations etc.

I hadn't heard of mass cards until you mentioned them--however, with Clarrie chortling about the 100 grand received, and jerry thanking the senders, there had to be money in it to trigger jerry's blog.

Edwards appointment is to thwart fraud investigations.

Since the 'Team' will now be able to share info.

Legal teams will inform if the PJ are coming and the fund will be drained ASAP.
If the fund is asked questions from authorities, they will inform the PR ready for the spin.
The McCanns remain 1 step ahead of all investigations.

The lunatics really have taken over the asylum.
