Much discussion here that it was not madeliene at the creche on 3rd may.
However there had to be an excuse for one of the other children NOT to be there if that child were pretending to be madeliene (and if that child did not reposnd to madelienes name, and the staff did not realise it was not her - more reason for them to think she was shy)

I thik that obrien may have said his child could not go as she was sick, then she went instead of madeleiene.

Later that night obrien confirmed his child was sick with the vomiting story.

Well how many parents go to a vomiting child, clean her up, then go back to eat Tapas?

exactly my point.

Why would he make this publci when it reflects so badly on him as a parent? It must be very important as part of the cover up to make it clear that his child was sick.

i constantly ask myself,

what happened that is so terribly that they are happy to have the world think they are child neglectors?

what happened that is so terribly that obrien is happy to have people think he has no sense of decency regarding his sick child

what happened that is so terrible that they would rather have people beleive they caryy dirty unwrapped nappies in cars?

Maybe they think joe public would assume being docs they would know best..people generally trust doctors.
My mate who lived in the states (she's pro) says that 80 paces is nothing, she had BBQ's in her garden and it was twice that length. She trust 'em cos they're docs and middle class...it's quite sickening.

i dont think that you would find many people who would leave a sick kid of 3 totally unsupervised - that guy is a real saddo if he did that!!
i think that he was helping out with madeleine in whatever state of life or death she was in

I cannot believe that these people honestly think that leaving sick children, or young children under three while they go out for a meal, is acceptable behaviour. They talk about it in the press as if ...yeah ok we did that so what.

Who in their right mind does that? I have never heard of anybody doing this until this case. I have been a parent for twenty years now, at one time I was a single parent. I have loads of friends with kids, some single parents, some in couples, some in communes. I have never heard of any child being left alone whilst the parents are socialising. They were so completely selfish, uncaring people and I can't believe that anyone dares to defend their behaviour.

Has anyone on this forum heard of a child/children, sick or healthy being left alone before?

I doubt it somehow.
