Complaints to the Press Complaints Commission, the press watchdog, reached a high last year. The 4,340 complaints were a third up on 2006. A Daily Mirror column about Portuguese police and Madeleine McCann attracted the most complaints — 485.

Yes, HAL, but the Daily Mirror complaint they are referring to is the one by Tony Parsons calling the PJ "filth" and "pigs" Many members on here, including myself, complained about that to the PCC and so did the Portuguese Ambassador.
I got a reply from the PCC telling me that as the Portuguese Embassy had complained they were putting the Ambassador as the main complainant, with myself and all the others underneath his name.
I also complained about the editor who let the disgusting article go through.

I suspect that the PCC treats a complaint about a specific article or post as an individual complaint, not multiple complaints about one article as being individual complaints.
In a country the size of the UK, 4,340 complaints could be generated by one article. Would rejected complaints also be kept out of the total, too?

135 members of the public willing to pervert the course of justice no less in their defence of irresponsible parenting. Don't these HTFM brainless chimps realise that if it was not for irresponsible parenting there would not exist the opportunities for potential abductors to take advantage of. What every happen to looking at the root cause of a problem ???

Are those derogatory terms like 'CHIMP'?[/quote]
Why would you think or ask if Chimp be a derogatory term?
