SKIPTON Madeleine McCann’s family said yesterday that they would never give up hope that the missing girl would be found.
Her parents, Kate and Gerry, attended Mass at a church in Skipton, North Yorkshire, where they spent Christmas with friends. Worshippers said that they had attended with their two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie. Madeleine disappeared from the family’s holiday apartment in Portugal on May 3, shortly before her fourth birthday.
Mrs McCann’s aunt, Janet Kennedy, who lives in the McCanns’ hometown of Rothley, Leicestershire, said: “The motto is that we never give up hope. Kate and Gerry say that every day is a difficult day and we are just the same.”
In the weeks after the girl disappeared, people flocked to leave toys at the war memorial in the village square. The family has now sent more than 1,000 toys left for Madeleine to a charity for orphans in Belarus. The gifts were washed by villagers in Rothley, and distributed by the charity Samaritan’s Purse to orphans in Minsk and Zhodino.
So they have us believe they have been sent thousands of presents for Maddie for Christmas but then it transpires it's the presents they were sent on May 3rd that they have now washed and sent to charity. I guess if they had been new toys Kate would have put them on her EBAY account along with a blue sports bag.

Yes. I noticed this in several reports. The toys they sent, so-say,Christmas presents to Madeleine, were actually toys sent since 3 May, and been hanging around various church halls ever since. Yet they tried to say, via several media reports, that these with new presents.
Nothing these people do is honest & straightforward.

Good morning
Hope everyone had an enjoyable day yesterday!
So they went to Skipton! My assumption that either the body was buried or ashes were delievered at the church site in July, may hold some ressonance, we need to wait and see if the police believe it also...
I'm going to break my good habits and be a bit picky here
A quiet Christmas - with friends? Now I can totally understand them wanting to get away from the Rothley house, too many painful memories of last Christmas, but wouldn't it have been nice to go and see the Healy grandparents - as Madeleine and the twins are their only grandchildren I believe?

MW probably did Tripz, isn't this the same church where the M's attended the christening of MW's children?
Friends told how the couple hid their pain behind weak smiles for the sake of the twins during the 11am service at St Stephen's Church in Skipton, north Yorkshire.

Yes Michael Wright was there.
Yesterday the McCanns joined Anne-Marie Wright and her husband Michael for a Christmas Day Mass at St Stephen’s Church in Skipton.
....maybe somebody from the Plod was present, can't see them letting that slip past. This would be the best time to pay respects under the pretence of Christmas lunch.
