Madeleine disappeared in Praia da Luz on May 3 
I heard some talk about Gerry McCann losing a blue bag, some said they definitely remember hearing this on the news while others said it was “forum gossip” and never existed. After searching the internet news and blogs for hours I came up with nothing and ended up concluding it’s probably “forum gossip.”
After finding nothing on the internet I forgot all about it, then the other day Ironside posted a link to a Youtube video from Sky News.....it's the report on Gerry’s missing bag.
So if the police were looking for a blue tennis bag then why did Mr Mitchell make a statement to deny its existence? And why was the internet scourged of any reference to it?
Ironside pointed out that Eddie alerted to cadaver at the corner of the McCann couple’s bedroom near the wardrobe ..... it's unlikely for a dead body to be laid openly beside or in the wardrobe but a bag containing a dead body placed there ready for removal isn't beyond the realms of possibility.

Man (I don’t know who the official looking man is): "There’s a bag of, of a size that could be taking away from the flat a child that would be of great interest to the investigating officer."
Another curious statement made by Martin Brunt immediately after the above (@ 0:45)
"We’ve established that the apartment is owned by someone called McCann, Ruth McCann, a retired teacher from Liverpool. She and Madeleine’s parents insist they are not related. The name is just a remarkable coincidence but it’s enough to add one more conspiracy theory to the thousands that continue to circulate."
That’s one hell of a coincidence! What's the odds on a couple by the name of McCann to rent a holiday apartment in a foreign country from someone also called McCann and yet not know each other? I understand David Payne supposedly arranged the holiday and if so then maybe it is just one hell of a coincidence.
@ 1:06 Martin Brunt goes onto say: "Eight months on many who’ve followed the story still cannot understand why Gerry and Kate McCann left Madeleine and the younger twins alone in the apartment as they dined with friends at the nearby Tapas bar."

The apartment is some distance away, it’s beyond the swimming pool, there’s a wall and a hedge and behind that is a path. After viewing this video it’s hard to see how the McCann couple believed it's okay to leave the children and check every 20 minutes when they couldn’t even see the apartment clearly from where they sat..... stories such as the tragic accidental death of two year old Lucy Marke (who was at a BBQ with her parents) outlines how dangerous it is for young ones to be out of sight even for only a few minutes.
Conclusion: Doubtful they were checking at all.
In light of what Eddie and Keela appear to suggest in the video footage, I have to wonder why the McCann couple haven't attempted to sue Martin Grimes. Perhaps it's because dogs are unable to lie and leaves no loop holes for libel?

I’m over the moon you’ve posted it on your blog, thank you. The more these things are shared the better I think. What a good idea to add the picture with Eddie sniffing the location alongside the photograph of the bag on the shelf with the Youtube news video, it really adds impact to the likelihood of there being a missing blue tennis bag and shows the possible reason behind it being missing!
Your blog is brilliant.... So many details and photographs, you’ve helped greatly to put things into perspective.
There’s another “unanswered question” that might be connected with the missing tennis bag.....I remember hearing about a sports bag being washed up on a beach in Portugal but can’t find any references to it now. If the internet was scourged of all information about the missing tennis bag (the video now proves the news did in fact report it) then I think it’s possible the washed up bag might also be true but once again the internet has been cleaned.

I don't recall reading about the blue bag being washed up on the beach...? Hopefully it did and the PJ have it.
Thanks for the compliments about my blog - it never amazes me just how much information there is about two 'ordinary' doctors who went on a weeks' holiday and lost a child.
This really is the Scam of the Century in my opinion.

Maybe the "bag washed up on the beach" is just gossip then...if that's the case then I hope I haven't put the myth back in the circuit by querying it. Last thing needed is more red herrings taking up time.

Fisherman were asked by PJ to keep a look out for a blue bag. Something washed up on the shore in the early days a childs pink top. Kate was asked if she recogniosed it and she said No.Will try and find a link. Sasha as you mentioned a lot has been removed from the early days, will have a look and see if Nige from Mccann files has anything.

Ironside, thank you so much for all your work. I didn't know about the reconstruction or at least I don't remember seeing a reconstruction about the missing bag.
If that was Madeleine's top would Kate McCann say she recognised it? I'm starting to doubt she would.
Ironic....in the beginning I believed the McCann couple and the news didn't and now they do and I don't lol. Or maybe they were paid off (or threatened?) in the early days to be more favourable and economical with their reports and that's why it looks like they've switched their opinions?

You're right, there doesn't seem to be anything about what Madeleine was wearing during the day. I'm not convinced she was wearing pyjamas when she "disappeared."

It’s looking like the “washed up bag on the beach” is a myth. I went to McCann Files before going out but didn’t find anything with the search criteria I used.
Thank you Ironside for trying. Yes, I found the one about the bag found near Faro airport....think that’s another red herring thrown in for good measure. I don’t think anything came of it?

Sasha. I think it is safe to say that if you and JKH were not a threat to Team McCann, you would never be troubled by these McCannistas.
The fact that you are pestered by such people should give you all the confidence in the world to carry on seeking justice for Madeleine.
Were she to have relied upon her parents and the people they have employed to date, I think we can clearly see that this would have been swept under the same carpet as the Hollie Greig case.
