Once Kate 'discovered' Maddie missing it was approximately 40mins later before the police were called.. During this time and in the following hours there were many calls made to family and friends, and, supposedly to Sky News within the first 10 mins. It was seemingly IMPERATIVE to implant the 'abduction' theory....Once all the family knew....and once broadcast on Sky News the groundwork was laid. One thing I have noticed is that many people tend to 'believe' the first thing they are told....all subsequent explanations are questioned. In this case, the abduction explanation was locked in place so well that even discrepancies in the means of entry and the shutters not being 'jemmied' as Kate had said, tend to be 'ignored'. Logic flies out the window and once a particular scenario is accepted, people find it difficult to admit their first instincts were possibly wrong and look for anything to justify being correct in their opinions.. The 'abduction' theory, regardless of being almost impossible and with no 'evidence', is still believed by tens of thousands...maybe millions of people! “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. However, while a certain number of psychopaths are criminals and have had run-ins with the law and some are, in fact, serial killers, there are a great number of them that never fall afoul of the law. These are the smarter ones, and they are the ones that are the most dangerous because they have found ways of working the system to their advantage. There are a number of traits that we find in psychopaths: An obvious trait is the complete lack of conscience. They lack any sense of remorse or empathy with others. They can be extremely charming and are experts at using talk to charm and hypnotize their prey. They are also irresponsible. Nothing is ever their fault; someone else or the world at large is always to blame for all of their 'problems' or their mistakes. Martha Stout, in her book The Sociopath Next Door, identifies what she calls the pity ploy. Psychopaths use pity to manipulate. They convince you to give them one more chance, and to not tell anyone about what they have done. So another trait - and a very important one - is their ability to control the flow of information. They are also incapable of deep emotions. In fact, when Hare, a Canadian psychologist who spent his career studying psychopathy, did brain scans on psychopaths while showing them two sets of words, one set of neutral words with no emotional associations and a second set with emotionally charged words, while different areas of the brain lit up in the non-psychopathic control group, in the psychopaths, both sets were processed in the same area of the brain, the area that deals with language. They did not have an immediate emotional reaction. Our whole emotional life is a mystery to them, while at the same time providing a tremendous tool for them to manipulate us. Think of those moments when we are strongly affected by our emotions and how our ability to think is impaired. Now imagine that you were able to feign such emotion, remaining cool and calculating, while the person you were exchanging with was really trapped in an emotional cauldron. You could use tears or shouting to get what you wanted, while your victim was driven to despair by the emotions they were living. They also seem to have no real conception of past or future, living entirely for their immediate needs and desires. Because of the barren quality of their inner life, they are often seeking new thrills, anything from feeling the power of manipulating others to engaging in illegal activities simply for the rush of adrenaline. Another trait of the psychopath is what Łobaczewski calls their "special psychological knowledge" of normal people. They have studied us. They know us better than we know ourselves. They are experts in knowing how to push our buttons, to use our emotions against us. But beyond that, they even seem to have some sort of hypnotic power over us. When we begin to get caught up in the web of the psychopath, our ability to think deteriorates, gets muddied. They seem to cast some sort of spell over us. It is only later when we are no longer in their presence, out of their spell, that the clarity of thought returns and we find ourselves wondering how it was that we were unable to respond or counter what they were doing. |

I have no doubts that it has to do with a paramount situation relative to the internet. In the past, the HTFM, an organization «winked at» by the McCanns, used to have various members worldwide who were instructed on «guerilla» cyber-attacks, cyber-harassment, massive flagging of videos or blogs. Who doesn't remember the proposefully planned HTFM youtube videos flag attack? Bellow is the HTFM/Find Madeleine instructions sent via email to their «volunteers». Quote:

In our opinion that sends the wrong message to millions of viewers. The video was of Madeleine talking from beyond the grave, asking Kate why she had killed her. Then we noticed other footage, just as vile, accusing Kate of killing Madeleine. It appears that in allowing this material to be viewed, You Tube supports it. People are openly accusing Kate and Gerry of killing Madeleine without any concrete evidence. What is more disturbing is that by their actions these people are promoting hate behaviour towards the McCanns. You Tube's inability to effectively judge material before allowing publication on their website, is allowing people to spread hate and lies about the case. Whatever happened to human decency and the principle of 'innocent till proven guilty in a court of law'? You Tube should review their publications criteria regarding this type of material because, currently, it's a free for all. Here is what we are hoping to achieve with your help. *Find as much unacceptable video footage on You Tube as possible and compile a list. At the bottom of this email are some of the links to footage we have found so far. *Encourage as many people as possible to register at You Tube for the sole purpose of flagging this material and then e-mailing them a complaint. *As already stated, we are hoping to make our voices heard over a 24 hour period, so as to target youtube with many hundreds/thousands of complaints. THANK YOU for your support. in Maddie: HTFM CyberWarriors Promoting Censorship on Youtube - published on 26 February 2008 Basically unpaid 'astrosurfers', generally gullible and young people, most of them teenagers would use social sites like myspace, hi5, bloggerspot blogs, forums and newsgroups to «spread the message» and specially to aggressively counteract any «opinion» that questioned the McCann couple's image and their tall tale. Several similar strategies where put in place to discredit the opposing faction and misinform the general public; some are still being used in some blogs and forums [no need to mention them, right?] - these include systematic and ceaseless fabrications, illegal pressure and threats, including racial prejudice, personal malice like using the opposition family members independently of their age, just to name a few. HTFM had a pyramidal structure, akin to scientologists, with people on the top, like Karen McCalman, Maxine Harris and Vivien Holmes - during the last two years Team McCann (others call it the McCann camp) have lost most of their, let's call it, «virtual community of trolls». As I said above they need to keep their «story» on-going for the established agenda - nothing to do with the re-opening of the process or the actual search for a dead girl. The best way is to use social media, and for that they need «volunteers», people who have spare time in their hands and are easily persuaded - thus the current «Students Project». All in my opinion, of course. |

This is the conclusion of an analysis of the writings know as "Kate's Diary" by psychologist Quintino Aires. "I need you to come back." That is one of the sentences repeated most by Kate McCann in the journal she wrote that is commonly referred to in the media as "Kate's Diary". We showed the writings to Quintino Aires, chair professor of psychology. "She seems to be more concerned about herself than about poor Maddie", he finds. TV Mais has established that Kate only began writing the journal almost two weeks after Madeleine McCann disappeared. But the "diary" looks as if it was begun before 3rd May 2007. One only has to look at the diverse appearance of the writings, with different colours of pen and writing styles, for example, to understand that it was written in different stages and in differing emotional states. Written and added to as she deemed convenient. "It's the Kate McCann we already know", explains Quintino Aires. "The narcissistic personality of this woman, which has already been alluded to several times, comes out very clearly in these writings. Her complaints about the negative effect the physical exertion is having on her body, which "annoys" her; how she feels very tired at the vigil on the 25 May, which she thinks is too long (contrary to what a mother suffering the loss of her daughter would feel, being buoyed up by the joint attention of others…); the enthusiastic way she refers to the photo session or even the conference in the British Consulate, which, she highlights, ended in applause from the media. Kate's venting about the difficulty she has in answering questions in moments that are less controlled and not predicted. In her writings one can very frequently identify traits of an immature and narcissistic personality", the psychologist explained to TV Mais. Instead of "I need you to come back", which Kate repeats so many times in her notes, Quintino Aires says that one would normally expect to find "how are you feeling?". In other words: Kate is more concerned with herself than with her daughter. Relevant or not? On 12 September 2007, "Público" reported on its website that "the PJ has seized a copy of Kate McCann's diary, a document that could contain relevant information that would help to clarify the case of the disappearance of her daughter Madeleine". The report turned out to be true. The seizure took place during a search of the house the McCanns had rented in Praia da Luz. Amongst other things, Maddie's mother complained that her children were hysterical and that her husband didn't help her as much as he should. The PJ already considered Kate's notes to be important for the investigation in its interim report and Prosecutor's Office filed a request that the diary be added to the case evidence. But the criminal instruction judge presiding over the investigation in Portimão rejected the request, as did the Évora Court of Appeal. Little emotion The events following Maddie's disappearance, her mother's anguish and despair, the solidarity of her friends and the media impact of the case are other aspects referred to in the notes. Quintino Aires explains that writing things down helps us to organise our thoughts, especially when we are going through trying times. "Many people use this as an instrument to deal with the anxiety. So it is nothing out of the ordinary that Kate has written the notes, regardless of whether she did so on her own initiative or at the suggestion of a friend or specialist. What is surprising is the structure and content of the document, given that it does not follow the normal format for texts of this kind.
