Curiously, on this day only Russell and Matthew activate other antennae outside
Luz. The first activates the antenna referred to before, while the second
activates "Budens 1". If on the one hand the movement of Matthew to Budens is
acceptable, then the trip of Russell to Aljezur in these first days so soon after
the disappearance is somewhat strange, it not being that, once more to the
picture of Fiona Payne on 12 July, there exists an error in the data that the
operator Optimus remitted to the Police. There is an hypothesis of him having
made that journey, there being sufficient time for him to cover the distance that separates Luz from Aljezur (68 km.) at an average [speed] of 130 km/h.
Despite there being no other records from the mobile phones of the other members
of the group outside the antennae of Luz, there exist gaps in the times [of the
records] that make it possible for one of them to have accompanied him.
Therefore, accepting that Russell was effectively in the coverage area of that
antenna, then on this date the members of the group would already have had
access to a motor vehicle.

We arrived in Portugal on Saturday morning, where a friend lent us a car to use and we went to Praia da Luz. My first impression was that everything was busy, but there was also a surreal sensation of passivity. Kate’s mother and father were already there.
We stayed for 3 months, initially returning home for a few days in the middle of June in order to deal with financial affairs and work related subjects. We were there to offer our help and support,Sandy and I stayed in an apartment that also served as an office. Sandy dealt with the correspondence and I helped in the kitchen and with cleaning. In the afternoons we would go out with the children , I didn’t think it was a good idea for them to be in the crèche for the whole day, we tried to maintain a routine in order to give them a sense of normality.

Every day was the same as the previous one – the same questions about whether there was any news, what developments had there been in the case, but we were there to provide support when necessary.
I remember that they had weekly meetings with a series of persons, the Portuguese treated Kate and Gerry cruelly. One minute they would help them and the next moment they turned on them, making them arguidos.

When we left in the middle of June we felt dreadful because we did not want to leave them, both Gerry and Sandy cried at the airport and I tried very hard to remain strong. Our only comfort was knowing that there were others travelling out to take our place and support Gerry and Kate. When we went back for the second time at the end of June to attend our son’s graduation, it was even more difficult. I wanted them to come back so that they could get away from all the negativity and so that they could achieve some degree of normality and could feel the love and support of theirfamily and friends, but they refused, wanting to stay where Madeleine had been seen for the last time in order to feel her closeness, it was heartbreaking.

Sandy found them a house outside of the Ocean Club to try to give them the stability that they needed.

When we arrived in Portugal we stayed in an apartment in the Mark Warner Praia da Luz complex. Kate and Gerry were still lodged in the same complex, even though it was not the same apartment. We had a separate apartment on the same floor and close to two doors somewhat of a distance. During part of this time, our days had similar routines. During the day we would leave the apartment to meet with Kate and Gerry in order to care for the twins Sean and Amelie, and also to cook for all of us. Kate and Gerry would use our apartment as an office in order to have meetings and to effect search plans for Madeleine. This continued until the end of June, at a time when Mark Warner required that we leave the complex and at a time when tourist high season was about to begin.

During these first two months we provided help to Kate and Gerry, and only returned to the U.K. on two occasions in order to take care of some personal business. In the beginning of July of 2007, we left the Ocean Club and moved to a villa with Kate, Gerry and the twins in the Montinhos zone, around 1.5 km from the OC. We never noticed anything strange in the site were we stayed. On the 27th of May of 2007, Gerry was handed a rental vehicle in the Mark Warner tourist complex; a Renault Scenic with plate number 59-DA-27. I met with the representative of the car rental agency at Gerry’s request, and as such, my name was also on the rental contract so that I could also drive the vehicle; to drive the children and to go shopping. These were things that Gerry was too occupied to carry out himself. I was the habitual drive of the vehicle and used it daily. I drove to many places, including the airport, local supermarkets, and drove the children to the zoo and the beaches in the area. I also traveled as a passenger on many occasions, when Kate, Gerry or other people were visiting, or driving the vehicle. People who were present in the vehicle were Kate, Gerry, Sean, Amelie, Mike Wright, Janet (Kate’s aunt), Kate’s mother and father, and her friend Amanda. Basically, the vehicle served as a transport for friend and family who cam to offer their help to Kate and Gerry and also to effect daily routines. The same vehicle was also used to move us from the Ocean Club to the villa, transporting all the luggage and personal objects from one location to the other. During these trips, the children seats would be removed to create space.

Whilst in the villa, a gardener would arrive every week or about every 15 days. This was organized by the estate agency. The gardener would leave black rubbish bags near the gate, and on at least one occasion, I used the vehicle to remove these bags. The collection of rubbish in Portugal is not made as it is in the U.K., and for this reason, it was necessary to take the rubbish to a tip (disposal area) which was called “recycling area” near the back of the Ocean Club. I used the Renault Scenic for this reason on many occasions.

On one occasion, I believe it was on July of 2007, I took Patricia to the supermarket. We carried bags in the boot (trunk) of the Renault Scenic; bought various items including fresh fish, shrimp and beef. When we unloaded the shopping bags, we noticed that blood has run out of the bottom of the plastic bag. After this shopping trip and still in the month of July 2007, I began to notice a strange odour in the car. I did not give it much importance and assumed it was likely due to the leakage from the rubbish bags or from the blood which had escaped from the shopping bags. As a result, we removed the carpet from the boot (trunk) in order to clean it. I tossed (beat) the boot carpet to remove any particles and cleaned it with a wet cloth and left it to air out.

In my opinion, it is impossible that Kate and Gerry could have hidden Madeleine
or used the car to transport her to another locale. There was always a lot of people and the media observing their movements which would make this impossible.

We completed our move to the new accommodation today. It took longer than expected as we moved the thousands of letters of suuport we have recieved and all the new toys. Most of this evening was spent on the phone and answering e-mails finalising forthcoming campaign events. There should be some stuff in the press in the next few days although we are very aware that the recent terrorist activity will, quite rightly, continue to dominate the news. Stolen Madeleine photos returned to father By Fiona Govan in Sotogrande Last Updated: 2:01am BST 02/07/2007 Gerry McCann, 39, was said to be delighted today at having two "irreplaceable" pictures of his abducted daughter back in his possession. One picture is said to show Madeleine at 15 months old, while another was taken in church shortly before her disappearance on May 3. The family had issued an appeal for their return after Mr McCann's wallet was taken by a pickpocket in Waterloo station hours after he arrived in the capital for a series of meetings about his global campaign to find his daughter. At the time his sister described the theft as a "demoralising" sign of the times and urged the thief to do the right thing. "I hope whoever took the wallet is so ashamed when they realise what they've just done that they get those pictures back to us as soon as possible," said Philomena McCann. Following the appeal the wallet was posted to the McCanns' former house in Queniborough, Leicestershire, the address which was inside. It was forwarded to their current home in nearby Rothley and then brought out to the couple in Praia da Luz, Portugal, by friends visiting at the weekend. A postmark suggested it was sent from London on June 22, the day of the theft. Apart from a sum of sterling, everything else in the wallet - including Euros and his driving licence - was returned. Brian Kennedy, Madeleine's great uncle, said Mr McCann was "pleased" the pictures had been recovered. "Either someone with a conscience has realised who they had stolen it from and decided to return it, or it was discarded by the thief and sent to us by someone who found it," he said. "I have spoken to Gerry and he is pleased. As far as I can tell, all the pictures that were in there of Madeleine are still there. It's a bit of good news, which we haven't had for some time." In his daily blog on the official findmadeleine.com website Mr McCann wrote: "Our friends brought back my wallet which had been returned, needless to say minus the sterling, although all my cards and 30 euros were still in it! "It is good to have my driving license back and one or two other important things," he wrote, referring to the photographs of his daughter who has now been missing for 60 days. He also described the family's preparations to move out of the apartment complex where Madeleine was taken from her bed and find a more permanent base in the resort. "We have confirmed our new accommodation and will be moving in the next few days," he wrote over the weekend, which was spent packing belongings into boxes

We did a single interview today for the Portuguese media with a British journalist sitting in. The interview marked the fact that it is two months to the day since Madeleine was abducted. We took the opportunity to emphasise that we would be staying in Portugal for the immediate future and continuing the campaign to help find Madeleine. We also want to work closely with the media here in Portugal and engage closely with the Portuguese people who have been so supportive. We were asked what was the hardest day since Madeleine disappeared and replied that every day has been hard without Madeleine. We also stated that our determination to find Madeleine is matched by the Portuguese police and that we have a good working relationship with them. Our frequent meetings with the police help us stay informed, allow us to feed information into the investigation and let clarify information with senior officers conducting the investigation

I am looking forward to seeing the pictures tomorrow! We had a brief, private meeting with the RFU management team last night to thank them for this unprompted show of support which helps keep Madeleines disappearance high profile here in Portugal and at home. We also met today with SOS Crianca, which is the main child welfare non-governmental organisation in Portugal. Similar to our meetings with child welfare groups and ministers in other countries, they feel our campaign to keep Madeleines profile high is correct. It was a very constructive meeting and they have offered to help support us in any way they can. It is likely we will travel to Lisbon at some point to meet with other agencies to see what advice they have for us and if we can help them. We hope the huge amount of goodwill that has been generated following Madeleines abduction can be translated into tangible benefits for the future and we very much want to work with the organisations trying to prevent child abduction and expoitation. It was heartening for Kate and I to learn of the release today of Alan Johnston after almost 4 months in captivity. Although the circumstances of his kidnapping are very different to that of Madeleines, it still lifted us to see him being freed knowing he will be reunited with his family shortly. We also agree with the commentators who have stated his family have acted with tremendous dignity throughout and Alan himself appeared incredibly resilient and composed following his release. Our best wishes go to Alan and his family.

It remained in Portimao until about 12:37:49, the moment at which there was registered a contact on the antenna "Portimao Universidade 3". The one immediately following occurs already in the coverage of the antenna "Luz Centro 1" at 13:14:37. FOOTNOTE [5] After observation that there would exist an almost weekly pattern in the movements to Portimao since the disappearance of Madeleine, with the most incidence on Thursdays, and after contact with the Inspector Sr. Joao Carlos, to whom is distributed the inquiry, it was possible to determine that the McCann couple went effectively once per week to the English Consulate, where they meet with people of the police, having from a determined time that those meetings were convened on that day of the week, making both parts always possible.	Heart wrenching to learn of the little British 3 year old girl who has been kidnapped in Nigeria. We know more than anyone what ther parents are going through and we hope, that like most of the kidnap victims in Nigeria, she is returned safely. The pictures of the England rugby squad in their Madeleine t-shirts were excellent as were the comments of the players supporting the campaign to find Madeleine. We hope and pray she will soon be able to thank all of those who have helped us maintain such a high profile of her disappearance
Fri July 6 Sandy and Trish Cameron	Friday July 6 • Dutch police reveal they have arrested a man in Eindhoven suspected of attempting to defraud Gerry and Kate McCann demanding two million euro (£1.35 million) for information on her whereabouts	The major development today was the arrest of a 39 year old Dutch citizen in Eindhoven for attempted fraud. The man had sent six e-mails saying he knew who had Madeleine and where she was. He was demanding €2million for this information. After being arrested he has admitted he did not have any information and was motivated by boredom and trying to extort the money. This arrest, after cooperation between the Portuguese, British and Dutch police forces, sends a clear message that this sort of crime is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. It also encourages Kate and I that all information about Madeleine coming through to the police in any European country will be taken seriously and rigorously evaluated.

Sun July 8 Sandy and Trish Cameron	Kate On 8th the analysed records of the communications apparatus indicate an exit from the area of residence of Kate in Portugal at 16:18:56 with the return at 22:26:00 - "Luz (Lagos)". During that period it made records on the antennae: "Portimao Infante 2", "Assumadas 2", "Oura 2", "Areias S Joao DCS 1", "Albufeira DCS 1", "Lagoa Centro 3", "Lagoa Centro 1", "Lagoa Centro 2", "Mexilhoeira l" and "Lagos (Santa Maria)".	A small event took place in Porto, in the north of Portugal, today to remember missing children. It was at a large schools end of year musical and the children and staff released balloons. It is good that local communities are staging events like this and we thank them for remembering Madeleine. We were glad to hear the young British girl kidnapped in Nigeria was returned safely today.

Mon July 9 Sandy and Trish Cameron	LONDON - JULY 9: Prime Minister Gordon Brown looks at his Portuguese counterpart Jose Socrates during a press conference at Downing St. July 9, 2007 in London, United Kingdom. Prime Minister Gordon Brown today thanked his Portuguese counterpart for his government's help in trying to track down missing Madeleine McCann.	No major news today but it was heartening to see both the British and Portuguese Prime Ministers, Gordon Brown and Jose Socrates, publicly pledge they would continue to do everything to help find Madeleine.  Kate From 22:26:00 on 8th until 14:40:18 on 10th, the records all materialise on the antennae of Luz.
Tues July 10 Sandy and Trish Cameron Fiona Rachael Russell arrive (re: murat)	For just 3 days after arriving back in Praia da Luz, from this trip back to the UK to collect photographs and videos, the 'last photograph' of Madeleine suddenly appeared - 21 days after Madeleine had been reported missing. (May 24, 2007 The last family picture of Madeleine McCann The Times) We know that Alex Woolfall sat with the McCanns on May 5th and went through the images on their digital camera to find good pictures of Madeleine for publication. The Times reported: 'The McCanns had photographs of Madeleine on their digital camera, which Mr Woolfall began transferring to a laptop computer. "I said to Kate, 'Let’s try to identify pictures where her face is visible'. Downloading the images was a very difficult process for them. It was upsetting. "They were trying to do two things at once: one, emotionally deal with what was actually, really happening to them; two, operate in some sort of logical way to help get her back." Mr Woolfall transmitted the photographs to the Press Association in London, from where they were distributed to the media. The portfolio included the now famous image of Madeleine wearing a hat on a tennis court.' It is surely extraordinary that the 'last photograph' of Madeleine, showing her full face, should not have been chosen for release at that time. Even if the photograph had been grainy and indistinct, it's significance to the investigation, as the last 'living' picture of Madeleine, cannot be overstated. That is, unless it wasn't there. Just 4 days after the 'last photograph' was released, mobile phone video footage was produced allegedly showing Madeleine and the family setting off on their holiday - one showing them all on the shuttle bus and the other showing Madeleine stumbling on the steps as she boards the plane. (Mobile phone footage of Madeleine boarding the plane) (Mobile phone footage of bus trip) So, given the significant time these images had suddenly appeared, could it really be possible that these were actually 'old' images, collected by Gerry on his trip home and subsequently falsely presented as being of the current holiday? If they were, then it would have a massive impact on the investigation because it would destroy the photographic evidence that Madeleine was still alive at 2:29pm on May 3rd. It would be interesting to know whether Alex Woolfall is one of the people the Policia Judiciaria intends talking to when they arrive in the UK to begin their questioning. If Mr Woolfall confirms the 'last photograph' was not on the digital camera he examined in Praia da Luz on 5th May, then, it would appear, the McCanns will have an awful lot of explaining	Kate and I both managed early morning runs today- it is definitely the time of day to it with the high temperatures in the middle of summer. Getting some aerobic exercise certainly helps us feel better physically and psychologically which helps maintain our positive attitude. The investigation into Madelienes disapperance remains very active and we note that the Portuguese police are conducting a series of interviews today and tomorrow.  Still in this month occurs the return of Fiona, Rachael and Russel, on 10th. As already mentioned previously, the three were present in the confrontation with Robert Murat on 11th, leaving on 12th. Kate From 22:26:00 on 8th until 14:40:18 on 10th, the records all materialise on the antennae of Luz. The next registration occurred at 15:22:58 ("Paderne") indicating a new exit from the area where she was living with return at 16:49:06 (antenna of Optimus installed in the [parish] Luz, Municipality of Lagos). During that period the records were observed on the antennae of that operator, installed on the [parishes]: S.Clemente (Loule) and Santa Barbara of Nexe. Due to the proximity of this last locality to Faro and due to the fact of the next day, 11th, having been the day on which was realised the confrontation between the witnesses Rachel Mampilly, Russel O'Brien and Fiona Payne, with the arguido Robert Murat, and further by the fact of the mobile phone owned by Russel O'Brien presents records on the antenna of TMN "Aeroporto-Faro 2" at 15:18:36 and 15:33:45 it is presumable that Kate had gone there [the airport] to receive the witnesses Fiona Payne and Russel. The mobile phone of Fiona presents a record at 15:20:07 on the antenna installed in the [parish] called Montenegro, situated about 2 kilometres from Faro airport. On this trip, Kate will not have had the company of Gerald, given that the records of his mobile phone, in that period of time, happened on the antenna "Praia da Luz Centro". From the return to Luz at 16:49:06 on 10th until 10:21:25 on 12th, the mobile phone of Kate activates only repeaters in Luz.
Wed July 11 Sandy and Trish Cameron Fiona Rachael Russell (murat)	Still in this month occurs the return of Fiona, Rachael and Russel, on 10th. As already mentioned previously, the three were present in the confrontation with Robert Murat on 11th, leaving on 12th. From the return to Luz at 16:49:06 on 10th until 10:21:25 on 12th, the mobile phone of Kate activates only repeaters in Luz.	This morning got off to a bad start when we were called, even before the twins were awake, by a reputable press agency saying that a body had been found and asking if it was true. It is very disappointing that this person did not check out the source of this rumour before contacting our representatives. Such calls and rumours are distressing even though we know if it does not come through an official source not to place much emphasis on it. The Portuguese police interviewed three of our friends again today, to clarify points in their initial statements. As most of you will know, there is a lot of misleading information being published, both in the press and on the internet, about the events leading up to Madeleine's disappearance and the criminal investigation. We would like to give more information, especially about inaccurate and hurtful reports, but cannot for fear of prejudicing any subsequent court proceedings. The Portuguese police have made it clear to us that all witnesses should not divulge or discuss the information they have provided. Kate and I are, of course not party to all of the information coming into the inquiry for sound operational reasons. Similarly a lot of people have asked to learn more about Madeleines likes and dislikes. This is information which we have been advised not to distribute publicly because of the risk of it being used in potential extortion attempts. The arrests recently in The Netherlands and Spain show that such information could be used negatively in the wrong hands.
Thurs July 12 Sandy and Trish Cameron Fiona Rachael Russell leave (murat)	Again they left our country: Gerald, the first exit, leaves on 12th, while Kate travels on 13th, but they both return at the same time. The second [exit], only Gerald leaving on 22nd and returns on 26th. Still in this month occurs the return of Fiona, Rachael and Russel, on 10th. As already mentioned previously, the three were present in the confrontation with Robert Murat on 11th, leaving on 12th. Fiona Payne From this record up to 10:46: 17 on 12th it activates only the antennae that serve Luz. At this time it is found that it activated one of the antennae of Lagos, on which antenna occurred two more records - at 10:47:13 and 10:47:29. There follow records made at 10:49:57 and 10:50:11 on the repeater installed in the [parish] of Aljezur, municipal area of Aljezur, district of Faro. Given the existing records before these last [two], in Aljezur, there seems to have occurred an error in the records remitted by the operator Optimus, considering that, according to the computer program Microsoft AutoRoute 2007, Lagos is a distance, in a straight line, of about 26 km from Aljezur, and closer to 34 km by road. To cover this distance in about two and a half minutes one would have to travel at a speed of 816 km/h, which is impossible to be achieved in any terrestrial vehicle produced up to this time. The listing of activations of mobile phone (44)779-627-2586 end with the last record in Aljezur. KATE From the return to Luz at 16:49:06 on 10th until 10:21:25 on 12th, the mobile phone of Kate activates only repeaters in Luz. Followed by records that put it in the airport of Faro at 11:41:57 ("Aeroporto-Faro 2"), to receive or to bid farewell to some relative or friend. The return to one of the antennae of Praia da Luz ("Luz Centro 2") was at 12:58:37. The last record in Luz prior to the exit to the airport occurred at 10:21:25.	It is ten weeks since Madeleine was abducted and every day has been incredibly hard for our family. No child should be separated from their family in such circumstances. The overwhelming messages of support, thoughts and prayers really help us stay strong. Somebody, somewhere knows where Madeleine is and it may take a single phone call for her to be found. We will not give up searching for her.   I came to London today to meet with the British police and will go to the Child Exploitaion and Online Protection Centre tomorrow to learn more about their role. As I have said previously we want to work closely with the police and child welfare organisations to help us keep awareness of Madeleines and other childrens disappearance high. I was also invited to attend the National Police Federation Annual Bravery awards tonight. The work of the police is often taken for granted until you really need them. It was a humbling experience to see and meet so many officers who have shown such outstanding bravery in the line of duty and protecting us all.   It was a fantastic opportunity to thank officers from all over the country who have been involved with the investigation to find Madeleine. The vast majority of those that I managed to speak to are, like us, very optimistic that we will find Madeleine safe and well.
Fri July 13 Sandy and Trish Cameron	Again they left our country: Gerald, the first exit, leaves on 12th, while Kate travels on 13th, but they both return at the same time. The second [exit], only Gerald leaving on 22nd and returns on 26th. Kate From that time until 10:14:44 on 13th, the mobile phone of Kate activates only repeaters that serve Luz. The next entry was made at 11:00:06 on the antenna installed in the [parish] Montenegro, of the operator Optimus, which from the analysis already made previously, covers the airport of Faro. Comparing the contacts of Kate and Gerald one observes that while she travelled outside Portugal only on this day, he travelled the day before. According to what was reported in some daily newspapers the McCann went to the United Kingdom. Kate The return of the family to Portugal only occurred on 15th, starting with the record of the mobile phone of Kate on the antenna "Motards Faro TR 1" at 11:34:39. The subsequent records occur on the antenna "Montenegro 2" at 11:35:07, 11:35:13 and 11:35:35. The first record in this return to Luz occurred at 14:53:09. On this day Kate, together with her husband, according to the records of both, again went to the airport of that Portuguese district. Once again was activated the antenna installed in the [parish] of Montenegro at 21:06:05. The final record on this antenna occurred at 21:19:22 then began the return to Luz. On the way were activated the antennae installed in the [parishes] S. Clemente (Loule) and Ferreiras, of the operator Optimus, and that called "Odiaxere Norte 2", of TMN. The record of arrival in the village occurred about 22:34:52 if one admits to a contact exactly at that moment.	Spent a large part of the day at the Child Exploitation and Online Protecetion (CEOP) headquarters in London. The work they are doing in the prevention and detection of child exploitation is fantastic and I have no doubt they are world leaders in many aspects of their work. The statistics of child abduction in the UK, both attempted and sucessful cases, are stagggering with over 1000 reported cases in 2003/4 and the figures show a year on year increase. The scale of the problem is much larger than Kate and I ever imagined and worryingly there does not appear to be reliable statistics for many countries in Europe. Clearly a lot of work has to be done to tackle this growing problem. Kate and I believe that someone, somewhere knows something about Madleines abduction. The events of recent weeks and the high profile of Madeleine reassure us that when the key piece of information comes in, to any law enforcement agnecy, it will be treated seriously and fed into the inquiry quiickly and actioned.
Sat July 14 Sandy and Trish Cameron K&G Baptism UK trip	Saturday July 14 • On a short trip back to the UK, Kate and Gerry McCann attend the baptism of two of their godchildren in Skipton, north Yorkshire.	Kate, the twins and myself attended a family baptism today in Yorkshire where we stood as Godparents. At the end of the short service, which was lovely, prayers were said for Madeleine. It is the first time Kate has been to the UK since Madeleine disappeared but we wanted to support our family the same way they have supported us over the last ten weeks and it was great to see so many family members together. We have also taken a huge amount of strength from our faith and of course the messages of support and prayers for Madeleine from people of all faiths around the world.

Travelled back to Portugal today on an early morning flight. It was heartening to see various posters of Madeleine up at all the check-in desks especially with the busy holiday season underway.   The flight itself was quiet for Kate and I as the twins fell asleep shortly after take-off. My mum and sister have also come out to for a few days so we managed to see a lot of family this weekend

Mon July 16 Eileen McCann Tricia Sandy and Trish Cameron	Monday July 16 • Harry Potter author JK Rowling announces she will use the worldwide appeal of her boy wizard to help the search for Madeleine Posters of Madeleine are made available to booksellers in more than 200 countries around the world ahead of the publication of the long-awaited final book in her best-selling series on July 21. Kate From that registration until 18th, all the records occurred on the repeaters that serve Luz.	The campaign to find Madeleine received a a massive boost today from JK Rowling. The author of the massive selling Harry Potter books has asked all retailers to display a specially designed poster of Madeleine when the sixth and final book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows goes on sale on Saturday 21st July. Ms Rowling, who lived in Portugal for several years, has offered amazing support in the search for Madeleine. As well as offering a large reward for Madeleines safe return she has also added information on Madeleines abduction on her own site with a link back to our homepage. Try and find the information at www.jkrowling.com, I will give you a clue that it is under links! A huge thank you to JK Rowling and her publishers Bloomsbury for their support. The new poster of Madeleine has been designed in conjunction with the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) and this is one of the things we have been working on in the last couple of weeks. ICMEC promote awareness of missing children globally and aim to prevent child sexual exploitation and abduction. The poster features 3 pictures of Madeleine with the advice to contact the local police if you see her. ICMEC, their logo and both theirs and our websites are also on the poster. The distribution of this poster will enhance the awareness of Madeleines disappearance, which we are advised increases the chances of finding her, and the plight of other missing children. With the announcement of the poster Kate and I also did a short interview for the press. A lot of photographs were taken of us with the poster so I suspect some of these will make it in to the newspapers in the next few days.

Tues July 17 Eileen McCann Sandy and Trish Cameron	Kates Diary TUESDAY, JULY 17: Finding it very difficult to talk to people from home, unless they are directly involved. It is difficult to show an interest in other people's lives and children at the moment. I know it sounds horrible, selfish and egocentric, but at the moment I can only think about Madeleine. I don't want to hear about anyone having babies or getting pregnant (mainly because it was all so very difficult for us). I'm worried about turning into a bitter, angry woman, that would be horrible. Please God bring Madeleine back and let this nightmare end. Please don't let our lives be destroyed by this. Please don't let them hurt Madeleine. Earlier today I found Amelie in our room looking at photos of Madeleine and she said: "I miss my sister. Where's my sister?" I couldn't believe it. I didn't realise Amelie's vocabulary and use of words was so good. I just said: "I miss her too. We'll find her soon." What a little sweetheart! She then turned her attention to something else. We took turns jumping into the water with the kids, which was great fun. After a DVD and a story it was the twins' bedtime which didn't take too long tonight. Madeleine, we are all with you darling. I don't think I can take any more of this, I really can't. How much longer will this suffering go on? I need Madeleine ALIVE. July 18th... Travel with gaps, Consecutive; 09:35 Luz Centro 10:22 Lagos 10:27 Bensafrim Centro { 4 hour gap } 14:23 Luz Centro Last ping of the day at 20:57  18/7 : Trip to Portimao. Activated Luz at 09:33, then a gap until 11:12 in Portimao Central, followed by a ping at Tres Bicos DCS DCS 1 (in Portimao ?) at 13:20 and then back in Luz Central at 15:22 Early evening trip to Raposeira/Burgau area. Luz at 16:10 the a gap until 18:11 at Burgau 1 quickly followed by a ping at Raposeira 1 (around 5 miles West of Burgau) at 18:12. Back in Luz Central at 18:39.  18th - Only Kate travels to Raposeira/Burgau area this evening	Pretty busy day. Started off with a few phone calls and answering e-mails. We had a longer meeting than usual with the Portuguese police because I had gone back to London last week . We have a good relationship with them and, as well as the British officers who are in Portugal, we can feed any information sent to us back in to the enquiry through an English Speaking detective.   The investigation, as everyone has seen recently, is still very active. There is also a lot of labour intensive detective work going on behind the scenes. Kate and I hope and pray every day for a breakthrough and cannot consider going home without her Kate From that registration until 18th, all the records occurred on the repeaters that serve Luz. On this day occurred another movement to Portimao. At 11:12:16 occurs the registration of "entry to the city" on the repeater "Portimao Centro 2". Between this record and the previous one there is an interval of about one hour and forty minutes, this record having been made on the antenna "Luz Centro 2". The first activation indicator that Kate will have returned to Luz is registered at 15:22:14 - "Luz Centro 2". Still on this day Kate, very probably accompanied by Gerald, again left Luz, having activated at 18:11:16 and 18:12:24 the antennae "Burgau 1" and "Raposeira 1" respectively. It points to Gerald having accompanied her, not by the fact of his mobile phone activating any antenna in that area, but due to the fact of his mobile phone being without any contact for about 45 minutes, between 18:01:55 and 18:44:46. According to the computer program "Microsoft AutoRoute 2007", the distance between Luz and Raposeira can be covered in 16 minutes, which fits into the interval of time in which there exist no contacts on the mobile phone of Gerald. It is added further the fact that the coverage area of the antennae permits a certain distance to the place in which it is installed (see footnote 3). The return to Praia da Luz after the trip to the village of Raposeira was observed at 18:39:42

Luz Central at 16:20, followed by 17:09 & 17:18 at Burgau 1 and then a ping at 17:21 in Raposeira. Back in Luz Central at 17:41 (2 pings at this time) which is then followed by a gap until 21:28.  19th - Only Gerry pinging in Lagos this morning. Only Gerry travels to Faro airport this evening Kate On 19th, the records of the mobile phone of Kate again indicate a journey to a locality that is in the coverage area of the repeater "Raposeira 1" (17:21:12). At 17:24:08 the mobile phone of Gerald activates the antenna called "Sagres". From this one infers that the two were together in that area of the Algarve. Until arriving at that place the mobile phone of Kate presents records at 16:58:18 and 16:58:22 on the antenna "Budens". The return to Luz will have occurred about 17:20 - 17:40: at 17:41:24 occurs the first record on the antenna "Luz Centro 2", from the mobile phone of Kate, while the record from the mobile phone of Gerald, in this return to Luz, occurs at 17:27:21	http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/PHONE_TEXTS.htm#oatp11 After this return, Gerald's phone comes to activate antennae of Lagos at 11:28:35, 11:38:29 and 11:46:24 on 19th. Ending up by returning to antenna "Praia da Luz" at 11:49:28. On this day it leaves this time in the direction of Sagres, activating on the way the antenna "Budens" at 16:58:18 and 16:58:22. At 17:24:08 one sees the record on antenna "Sagres". It returns to Praia da Luz where, at 17:27:21, it receives a signal from the antenna called "Praia da Luz Centre". It should be noted that these two records deserve very close attention. The time interval of 3 minutes would mean that Gerald would be obliged to travel the 27,5 Km that separate Sagres and Luz at a speed exceeding 250 km/h. Given the time of day and time of year, we can assume that there was some traffic on the road, which would preclude such speeds. Against this background, there would appear to have been, perhaps, errors in the records submitted by Vodafone. After that return to the village of Luz, a new record comes up on the antenna "Budens" at 18:18:57, but given the difference between this record and the previous record (18:17:28 - "Praia da Luz Centre") of barely 1 minute and 29 seconds, it cannot be viable to travel about 10.5 km in that period of time. To do so one would have to travel at a speed of 420 km/h. There is still an hypothesis of being at the extreme edge of the coverage area of the antennae? and to get from one to the other during that period of time. ? According to Engineer Sotero the coverage area of the antennae will vary, depending on the morphology of the terrain, the existence of obstacles (buildings, trees, etc.). However, the standard coverage area of antennae installed in cities or villages having enough inhabitants is about 1.5 kilometres, and outside those localities it is about 5 to 8 km. There can also be situations in which a mobile phone receives a signal from an antenna located at a distance greater, as opposed to that nearest to it. For that it is enough that the nearest antenna is in a valley and that the more distant antenna and the apparatus [mobile phone] are both on top of a substantial ground elevation diametrically opposite each other. Still on this day [19th] are activated antennae going to and returning from the airport: "Lagos" - 21:01:44; "Boliqueime" - 21:24:44; "Montenegro" - 21:50:50; "Faro Airport "- 21:51:35 and "Praia da Luz Centre" - 22:58:07. Once again this exit to the airport points to Gerald having gone to the airport to receive or to bid farewell to a friend or a relative.    I was glad to see the messages of support page updated today after a few days with some technical hitches. Kate and I spent some time reading through them and your messages do help us, especially on days when we are feeling particularly low. Our search for Madeleine is nothing without public support and we would like to give our thanks to everyone who has helped us in any way over the last 77 days. The kids are really enjoying spending time with their granny who they have not seen for two months. They particularly enjoyed her mashed potatoes tonight which brought a big smile to my mums face. The last couple of days we have spent an hour or two by a nearby pool and their confidence in the water has really improved.

Last ping of the day at 20:55 (early night?)   Kate From the return until 22nd there exist no records outside of the antennae of Luz.	Kate and I spent a few hours with our campaign manager discussing longer term strategies to maintain Madeleines profile, in case she is not found soon. We had a long conference call with two organisations that are keen to help us with the campaign but there is still quite a bit of work to be done before this venture can be announced. We also managed an early morning run together, thanks to my mum supervising the kids breakfast. We made it to the top of the cliffs overlooking Praia da Luz in 16 minutes although we did have to walk at the steepest part. I had my first visit to a nearby beach for a while with the kids late on this afternoon whilst Kate took the opportunity to get through lots of e-mails. The twins took great delight in burying me in the sand, building (well mainly knocking down) sandcastles and trying to jump out of the waves, which were tiny although the water was certainly colder than I was expecting.

It's as if a ray of light has disappeared from my life. There's no doubt that Madeleine is that ray and I miss her more than words can say. We just wrote our blogs/diaries. Once again those dark thoughts returned, linked with feelings of anxiety, fear and worry. How much longer will we have to cope with this pain? My poor, poor Madeleine. Why, Lord? My heart aches with so much love for you, Madeleine. I just hate being without you. If I could go back in time, I would. I have clear recollections of that night. You were so tired. After your baths, you sat on my knee and put my wedding ring on your finger. We (me, you, Sean and Amelie) read "Mog" in the living area and then "if you're happy and you know it". We all sat down on your bed. Then you counted the squares on the last page. You were always counting things on pages...always laying your head on your pillow at the same time every night. Sun July 22 Sandy and Trish Cameron Travelled to Washington	22nd... First activity just after 5am with 3 pings at 05:02. Next ping is at Arge IC4 (en-route to the Airport) at 08:09. Then pings at Sobral and one at Montenegro before pinging the airport itself at 09:00. Then another 3 pings there with the last being at 10:06, the last activity in Portugal until Gerry returns from his trip to Washington.  22/7 Trip to the East (destination unknown). Luz at 07:54, Tapadinha VLA TR DCS 2 at 08:13 followed by 4 pings in Porches at 08:16 - 08:17 then S Joao Venda (3, DCS 1, then 2) between 08:33 - 08:35. Then a gap until 11:09 back at Luz. Trip to Lagos in the afternoon. Luz at 13:21 followed by several pings in Lagos from 14:28 to 16:16. Back in Luz at 16:49 followed by a gap until 19:22  22nd - Only Kate is in Lagos in the afternoon, with Gerry away to the States Kate From the return until 22nd there exist no records outside of the antennae of Luz. On this day in view of the records of Kate and Gerald one is granting that Kate had travelled to the airport to drop off Gerald who, according to some newspapers on 23rd, journeyed to the USA. Effectively, the records of the mobile phone of Gerald lead to to the airport (antenna "Faro Aeroporto"), while those of Kate only lead to S.Joao das Vendas, a locality close to Faro. Her mobile phone presents records at 8:33:27 and 8:33:33 on the antenna "S.Joao Venda 3" at 8:34:27, 8:34:32 and 8:34:37 on the antenna "S.Joao Venda DCS 1", and at 8:35:23 on the antenna "S.Joao Venda 2". This last record is followed by one made on the antenna Luz Centro 2" at 11:09:57. About 3 hours later the records return to other repeaters that do not serve the village of Luz, at 14:28:48, beginning a series of 10 registrations on antennae that serve the city of Lagos. The return to the antennae of the village occurred at 16:49:54.	Spent the whole day travelling from the Algarve to Washington where I will be visiting the National and International Centers for Missing and Exploited Children and meeting politicians involved in recent legislation on missing children. The flights for our campaign manager and myself were kindly donated by an airline. There is a very upsetting story on the front page of a British National Newspaper today. The headline suggests that Kate and I face prosecution for neglecting our children by dining 50 yards away and checking on them regularly. We know that there has been criticism in some quarters of our actions but at the time, we felt our actions were responsible. We were essentially performing our own baby listening service although we have talked of the guilt we felt at now being there at the moment Madeleine was taken. We have been advised that legally our behaviour was well within the bounds of responsible parenting and subsequently been assured that no action will be taken. These types of criticism, particularly at this stage, as well as being hurtful are extremely unhelpful in the search for Madeleine. From the moment we discovered Madeleine missing Kate and I have done everything in our power to try and help get her back. Our opinion now is completely clouded by what has happened to us and of course has sent shock waves through thousands of families. The real issue is that we should not have a constant fear of abduction of our children from their bedrooms, gardens or streets for that matter.   What Kate and I did was at worst naïve and no one should forget that the real criminal is the predator who has taken a completely innocent child in such a premeditated fashion. It is this act that has wreaked havoc on our family and affected millions of other people

Mon July 23 Sandy and Trish Cameron NCMEC	Kate McCann's diary with many thanks to Joana Morais blog MONDAY, JULY 23: I got up at 7.00 and went running. I was surrounded by a pack of dogs (more or less 12)—it really wasn't a nice experience. I went to the flat, high part of the cliff as I felt really alone and a little frightened. Please God, don't let Madeleine be buried here. Please God, make sure she's alive. Please God, bring her back quickly to us. I took S and A to the Kids' Club at 9.45 then I went to church to pray a little on my own. Every single moment of happiness with Sean and Amelie, who are both so delightful, is mixed with deep sadness. All I want is Madeleine to be safe and happy again. Baths, stories and some bedtime chaos from Sean and Amelie before I finally put them to bed at 21.15. I spent some time on the internet reading about Sarah Payne (Roy Whiting), Eliz. Smart (Brian Mitchell) and the Peter Voisey case (he abducted a six-year-old girl from the bath in North Tyneside). Really horrible. Night, night sweetheart. I'm trying to be positive. I need to be because I need to believe that you’re going to come back to me, so I can go back to being truly happy. I love you XXX.   Monday July 23 • On a four-day fact-finding visit to the US, Mr McCann meets US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to discuss efforts to tackle child abduction. Kate 23/7 Two pings in the early hours at 03:07 & 03:19   The newspapers Correio da Manha 24Horas and Diraio de Noticias being consulted on 23 and 24 July, it was found that Gerald travelled alone on this occasion to Washington, USA.	Very busy day and I was almost asleep by the time I got back to the hotel so apologies for not posting the blog earlier. We started off by spending the morning at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). We had a tour of the NCMEC led by President Ernie Allen who has been there for 23 years and there is little he does not about missing children. The work done at NCMEC is extremely impressive. It coordinates information for all missing children and it was the center that pushed for the implementation of the early warning missing child (AMBER) alert throughout the USA. The center was also instrumental along with the founder, John Walsh, in getting the Adam Walsh bill passed on the 25th anniversary of the young boys murder. NCMEC officials organised a meeting with the US attorney general Gonzales at the justice department. He was already aware of Madeleine’s disappearance and has made child protection a major concern for him. I explained in a little more detail regarding Madeleine’s case and the fact that she is still missing after 81 days. He was very supportive of the campaign to keep Madeleines profile high and of the work that we are doing with NCMEC and its International division (ICMEC). We went back to NCMEC in the afternoon and I had detailed discussions with some of the experts there regarding Madeleines disappearance. We also had a board meeting with ICMEC regarding working together on other developments in raising the profile of missing children particularly using internet resources. Finished the day off with an interview for Americas Most Wanted who have been following Madeleines abduction almost since the beginning. The programme is actually hosted by John Walsh and has massive viewing figures of around 12 million.

Carrot sticks and crisps were had by all at teatime. Oh, darling Madeleine. It pains me to think of you—it causes me such sorrow and I have no idea how you feel. I pray to God that you are well, that you are not hurt. I pray that God keeps you safe and sound and that you're not afraid, nor in pain. Please God, answer my prayers and please, please, please bring Madeleine back to us very soon, for our own happiness. Please God. Madeleine, sweetheart, I love you so much. I can’t stop saying it. Another busy day in Washington. Started early on at NCMEC with interviews from 6.15am for the five major US TV networks morning news shows. A very serious issues programme 20-20 was also recording our visit to the America, as they will also be producing a piece on the search to find Madeleine. Late morning we had a visit to the White House to meet with the First Lady's deputy chief of staff Sarah Armstrong. This visit was facilitated by Lady Catherine Meyer, founder of the British charity PACT, which is an affiliate of ICMEC and has done so much to raise awareness of missing children in the UK. Mrs Bush is a strong supporter of child welfare issues and is in fact an Honorary Board member of ICMEC. They were already aware of Madeleines disappearance and I took the opportunity to fill them in on my visit to Washington, particularly the work we are doing with ICMEC and the meeting we had with the attorney general. We finished with a very quick tour of the public areas in the White House which is a very impressive building and we also met one of the Presidents Scottish terriers! Immediately following the visit I did a few interviews for the British Media in front of the White House. After a very brief lunch it was on to Capitol Hill for meetings with politicians who have been instrumental in getting the Adam Walsh BIll and others passed. We met with Democrat congressman Nick Lampson and Republican Senator Robert Shelby who both know the board members of NCMEC very well. They were both very keen to do what they could to help find Madeleine and the support during the visit we have received has been tremendous. I spoke to Kate and the kids, whose telephone skills are developing very quickly which is nice for me when I am away like this. Kate has stayed on in Portugal and has been keeping in touch with the police but there are no major developments to report. In the evening I managed to meet up with a friend from Glasgow who is also a cardiologist and working in the Washington area. We went for a bite to eat and it was good to sit down quietly with a familiar face for an hour or two.
Wed July 25 Washington Sandy and Trish Cameron	Kate McCann's diary with many thanks to Joana Morais blog WEDNESDAY, JULY 25: I received some bad news last night. A friend has breast cancer and has just received her first dose of chemotherapy following surgery. Horrible. I will include her in my prayers. At around 15.30 I went for a run. I had begun to feel restless and worried about Madeleine. It was hot and hard work, but I felt better for having gone. We returned at around 18.15—the children's dinner and baths, our dinner. (and the children's once again!). Madeleine, sweetheart, you are the most important thing, the only thing that matters. Words cannot describe how I feel about you nor how restless, tormented, alone, sad and incomplete I feel. I will continue to hope and pray that you come back to us soon but I don't want to think about how good it would be to feel something like that—not yet, at least. I love you so, so much darling. I remember sitting watching you through the glass window when you were having your swimming lessons on a Saturday morning. There you were with your yellow swimsuit, ever so pretty and you were smiling and waving at me, and the tears rolled down my face! I was and am still so proud of you, Madeleine, and my love for you is never-ending. I can’t stop saying how much I love you dearly. Managed another early morning run, round Washington centre this time, which is quite beautiful with grand buildings and monuments separated by wide grassy areas. I had another meeting with another congressman Mike Rogers who is an ex-FBI agent and we distributed wristbands to Nick Lampson and some of his colleagues as well as members of NCMEC This afternoon we had a meeting with the British Ambassador at his residence to update him on our meetings. The Embassy itself is a stunning building almost rivalling the Whitehouse   Flying back to Portugal this evening to get back to the family. I have no doubt that this visit to Washington has been extremely productive and will really help to maintain Madeleines profile. We will continue to work closely with ICMEC who have incredible experience and energy in dealing with missing children.
Thurs July 26 Sandy and Trish Cameron	TRIANGLE 26th July - right - Right after Kate collected Gerry from the airport after the US trip - without Kate ~18:00 - ~19:30   26th... First activity back in Portugal, after returning from the States, comes at 16:41 at Faro Airport. However, th journey back seems to over-shoot Luz by pinging in Vila do Bispo (7 miles West of Luz). Consecutive; 16:42 Faro Airport 17:31 Pedra De Agua 17:32 Boliqueime (27 minute drive from Faro Airport) { takes 49 minutes to drive from Boliqueime to Luz - Should arrive around 18:21} 19:05 Vilo do Bispo (1 hour 2 minute drive from Boliqueime and a 21 minute drive from Luz) 19:10 Budens (9 minute drive from Vilo do Bispo) 19:49 PdL Centro (14 minute drive from Budens) Last ping of the day at 21:50  26/7 Trip to Faro airport during the afternoon. Last Luz ping at 15:16. Activations at the airport between 16:40 & 16:54. Then a gap until 18:24 back in Luz.  26th - K travels to Faro to pick up G. Only Gerry pings Vilo do Bispo and Budens not long after returning from the aiport Kate From that return until 15:16:41 on 26th all the entries occurred on the antennae in the village where she had resided. On this day Kate journeyed to the airport of Faro to find Gerald. At 16:40:50 she is under cover of the antenna "Aeroporto-Faro 2", and at 16:54:56 ( "Aeroporto-Faro 1") still remaining in the area. At 18:24:55 the records return to Luz. Analysing the records of the mobile phones of the two parents of Madeleine, it is observed that after that return to Luz, the mobile phone of Gerald presents one entry at 19:05:21 on the antenna "Vila do Bispo" and at 19:10:35 one entry on the antenna "Budens". But all the records of the mobile phone of Kate occur on the antenna called "Luz Centro 2". But there exists a gap in the records between 18:24:55 and 19:48:38 without any entry. The first activation happened at 16:41:06 on the antenna "Faro Airport". Kate went to the airport to meet her husband. Given the [above] records it would seem that Gerald McCann will not have gone directly to the village where he resided while he was in our country, having gone to Vila do Bispo, only then he returned to the referred village at, or before 19:49:38. http://www.viladobispouncovered.com/ -Vila do Bispo is a small town 22km to the west of Lagos and the centre of the municipality which includes towns such as Sagres, Budens and Raposeira -Vila do Bispo is only a short distance from the coast - the nearest beach on the western atlantic coast is Praia do Castelejo (a favourite with surfers) and the beaches at Sagres are only about 8km. Between Sagres and Burgau, along the southern coastline, are many more quiet beaches which are well worth finding if you want to 'get away' from it all. -There are beaches that hardly anyone visits along this part of the south coast Salema Bugau	SUMMARY (approx) Gerry returns from Washington Kate leaves PdL around 3.15pm and arrives at the airport just before 4.50pm Gerry's arrives about 4.40pm Kate's phone doesn't ping until 6.24pm back in PdL (hour and quarter approx from Faro Airport) Gerry overshoots PdL to Vila do Bispo (7 miles west of PdL at 7.05pm (approx 90 min drive from Faro Airport and 21 minute drive from PdL) Returns back to Budens at 7.10pm (9 minute drive ) Arrives back in PdL at 7.50 approx (14 minute drive from Budens but took 40 mins) 25 minutes between Budens and PdL unaccounted for. Spent most of the day travelling getting back to Portugal late afternoon. It was great to be back with Kate and the kids after the short visit to Washington. It was also great to see so many pictures from the 50th day balloon launch on the website. A lot of people have been asking what can they do to maintain the search for Madeleine. The advice we have had consistently from the beginning, and very much re-emphasised by the experience of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is to maintain a high profile for the missing child. This can be achieved by relatively simple measures such as displaying posters in prominent public places. We ask people to continue downloading posters from the website and display them at bus stations, train stations and of course take them on holiday. Kate and I would like to thank everyone who desperately wants us to be reunited with Madeleine and have helped in this regard.

On the way to this town a contact is registered at 17:48:50 with the antenna "Budens". In the locality, supposedly the destination, it activated the antenna with that name [Sagres] at 18:47:32. According to the records it comes back to the village of Luz, the first antenna being activated is "Praia da Luz Centre" at 20:42:25. TRIANGLE 27th July - next day both parents went together ~16:30 - ~19-20:00 TRIANGLE (JdA) But I am more interested in the cluster around the dates the dogs came in. There is one interesting day, the 27th, when Kate pings at 18:43 at the Budens mast and Gerry pings at 18:47 at the Sagres mast. Normally between these two masts is the Raposeira mast, unless it is different at the coast. So 2 pings within 4 minutes suggest driving along a road that tangents both ping areas. IMO this could be one of the roads going from Raposeira down to the coast either to praia do barranco or praia da ingrina, possibly praia zavial as well. Why would you go to an area formerly not of interest for more than a month, a) in the evening and b) so important that you have to go there right after your return from Washington without apparently stopping off in PdL to see your remaining kids. 27th... Trip to Sagres early evening. Leaves PdL just after 17:30, would arrive in Sagres just after 18:00, and left Sagres around 20:10 giving him approx just over 2 hours in Sagres before arriving back in Luz at 20:42 although it could have been anytime from 19:20 that he arrived back at PdL depending on lack of activations. Consecutive; 17:05 PdL Centro 17:20 PdL 17:48 Budens 18:47 Sagres (he called his message centre) 20:42 PdL Centro    27th - Only Gerry travels to Sagres in the evening Kate' On 27 the records again indicate a new exit to the coverage area of the antenna called "Raposeira 1" (close to Vila do Bispo). The first record on this antenna occurs at 16:33:13 and the last was at 18:59:22. The return to Luz happened at 19:54:23. If we compare the records of the mobile phone of Gerald, one can infer that on this journey he had not accompanied his wife, given that at 16:33:41 his mobile phone has an entry on one of the antennae of Luz. However it is probable that that they had met later. At 17:43:54 the mobile phone of Kate is activating the antenna "Budens 1", TMN network, while the mobile phone of Gerald actions the antenna "Budens" at 17:48:50. It has become blisteringly hot here over the last few days and we decided to take the kids down to the beach early morning. Even then it was hot and there was almost no breeze although the water is still very cold. Met a very nice Portuguese couple who offered us good wishes in trying to find Madeleine Kate On 28th the records begin on the antenna "Paderne 2" at 9:04:09, followed by other records with short intervals of time between them, which follow the direction of the airport of Faro - "Aeroporto-Faro 2" at 9:28:36. The last record on one of the antennae that serve that airport follows at 10:07:16 "Aeroporto-Faro 1". From this record there follow others that show the return to Luz. At 11:39:15 it activates the antenna "Luz 1". Still on this day the mobile phone presents records outside of the antennae of Luz at 17:57:58 and 18:26:16 on the antennae "Budens 1" and "Burgau 1", respectively. The rest up to to the end of the day occur on the antennae of Luz.
Sun July 29 Sandy and Trish Cameron leave PdL	29th... Trip to Faro airport early morning, arriving at the airport around 9am and back in Luz at 10:38. "...Later on, a brother-in-law and a cousin of Kate said that they had carried steaks in the trunk that had thawed, even garbage, but no. The dogs follow neither garbage smell nor non-human blood. Then there is a witness, that was never heard, a jurist that lived next to the couple, in the second house [villa] outside of the apartment, saying that the car trunk was left open during the night, for airing. But maybe that was because of the garbage…..."	Dropped Trisha and Sandy off at the airport this morning for an emotional farewell. They have offered us the most unbelievable support and I am not sure how we would have functioned without them here. They have been the silent face of the campaign to find Madeleine, putting their lives on hold to help us get through each difficult day. From time to time we will have other friends and family coming to Portugal to see the kids and catch up with Kate and I. kate On 29th the records of the mobile phone of Kate are all made on those same antennae. Contrary to what happens with the records of Gerald, as was already referred to above in the analysis of the contacts of his mobile phone, which place him around 9:00am in the airport of Faro.

The same vehicle was also used to move us from the Ocean Club to the villa, transporting all the luggage and personal objects from one location to the other. During these trips, the children seats would be removed to create space.

Whilst in the villa, a gardener would arrive every week or about every 15 days. This was organized by the estate agency. The gardener would leave black rubbish bags near the gate, and on at least one occasion, I used the vehicle to remove these bags. The collection of rubbish in Portugal is not made as it is in the U.K., and for this reason, it was necessary to take the rubbish to a tip (disposal area) which was called 'recycling area' near the back of the Ocean Club. I used the Renault Scenic for this reason on many occasions.

On one occasion, I believe it was on July of 2007, I took Patricia to the supermarket. We carried bags in the boot (trunk) of the Renault Scenic; bought various items including fresh fish, shrimp and beef. When we unloaded the shopping bags, we noticed that blood has run out of the bottom of the plastic bag. After this shopping trip and still in the month of July 2007, I began to notice a strange odour in the car. [The phone] will have remained in the coverage area of the antennae that serve that city until about 13:21:19 - "Portimao Infante 2".

From this contact the records point to the return to the village of Luz, where [the phone] will have arrived between
14:18:38 ("Praia Porto Mos 3") and
14:33:32 (antenna of the operator Optimus, installed in the [parish] of Luz, Municipality of Lagos).

Wed Aug 1 Jon Corner Kates Parents	TRIANGLE 1st August - possibly separate trips because Kate pings at 19:20 in Budens when Gerry is still in PdL ~19:20 - ~22:00 Jon Corner and Kate's parents arrive Jon Corner arrives to film promotional material for the official 'Find Madeleine' site. Kate's parents also arrive. August 1st... Morning trip to Faro airport. Soon after returning there is a large gap followed by a couple of pings in 'Lagos (Santa Maria)' and then 3 in Lagos, as follows (consecutive pings)... 12:39 PdL Centro { 4 hour gap } 16:36 Lagos (Santa Maria) 17:08 Lagos (Santa Maria) 17:14 Lagos Centro 17:15 Lagos Norte 17:23 Lagos Centro 18:27 PdL Centro There is also a late night Budens ping with possibility of travel because of large gap: 20:04 PdL Centro 22:29 Budens 22:32 PdL 23:01 PdL Centro  1/8 Busy day. Starts with three activations in Luz (at what appears to be 3 different masts, Luz Centro 1 & 2 and Luz 2) between 09:14 and 09:30. Those are Kate’s only pings in Luz until 17:48 After the half nine morning ping she heads to Faro airport, where she activates at 10:33. Next ping comes at Porches (Just East of Portimao) at 11:40. Then comes several pings at Lagos between 12:39 and 17:36 (with a large gap : 14:07 - 16:35) Back in Luz at 17:48 and another at 18:51. Then a trip of around 10 miles West of Luz. Pinging Budens & Raposeira between 19:20 & 20:04 followed by a ping at Burgau @ 21:06 and then back in Luz Centro 2 at 22:14  1st - Although both G & K ping Lagos this afternoon, Kate is first there. She starts activating in Lagos at 12:39 while Gerry also has an activation at 12:39 (sending a text) in Praia da Luz. Although both travelled to F airport this morning, only Kate has no pings in Luz from that trip until 17:48 that evening. G, meanwhile, does have some Luz pings after returning from the airport, before travelling to Lagos. Simultaneous period of inactivity; 14:07 - 16:35 Both take a trip to the West of Luz (Budens/Burgau/Raposeira) this evening. However, yet again, Kate is first of the mark... She first pings Budens at 19:20 while Gerry has a 20:04 Luz ping. G only has one ping in the Budens area at 22:29 which comes after a 2.5 hour gap but has a Luz activation only 3 minutes later, so it may be an erroneous activation which would mean only K travelled West this evening. Kate meanwhile Pings Budens & Raposeira between 19:20 & 20:04 followed by a ping at Burgau @ 21:06 and then back in Luz Centro 2 at 22:14 On 1st Gerald travels to the airport and returns to the antennae of Luz. The last activation before leaving happens on antenna "Praia da Luz Centre" at 9:27:13, along the route it activates antennae: "Faro Airport" - 10:28:48 and 10:49:11; "Lagos Norte" - 12:07:08; "Lagos Centre" - 12:12:03; and "Praia da Luz" - 12:18:48. The records immediately after occurred at 12:19:13 and 12:36:30 on the antenna "Almadena" and "Praia da Luz Centre" [respectively]. On this day Gerald leaves Luz going to Lagos. The phone that he owns triggered the antennae: "Lagos (Santa Maria)" - Optimus network - 16:36:37 and 17:08:38; "Lagos Centre" - 17:14:54; "Lagos Norte" - 17:15:54; "Lagos Centre" - 17:23:45; and "Praia da Luz Centre" - 18:27:58. Still today at 22:29:50, there is a record on the antenna "Budens". The one preceding it occurred on the antenna "Praia da Luz Centre" at 20:04:14, and the one after it occurs on "Praia da Luz" at 22:32:44. Kate did a series of interviews for womens magazines and the Sunday newspapers which took most of the afternoon. Kates parents, who we visit regularly at home, also arrived and the twins were very happy to see them. They will be staying with us for a week.   We have had some new posters designed of Madeleine, in Portuguese and Spanish, which I have been printing out to distribute locally. I also did some filming to camera which we might use on the website and for future events. On 1st Gerald travels to the airport and returns to the antennae of Luz. The last activation before leaving happens on antenna "Praia da Luz Centre" at 9:27:13, along the route it activates antennae: "Faro Airport" - 10:28:48 and 10:49:11; "Lagos Norte" - 12:07:08; "Lagos Centre" - 12:12:03; and "Praia da Luz" - 12:18:48. The records immediately after occurred at 12:19:13 and 12:36:30 on the antenna "Almadena" and "Praia da Luz Centre" [respectively]. On this day Gerald leaves Luz going to Lagos. The phone that he owns triggered the antennae: "Lagos (Santa Maria)" - Optimus network - 16:36:37 and 17:08:38; "Lagos Centre" - 17:14:54; "Lagos Norte" - 17:15:54; "Lagos Centre" - 17:23:45; and "Praia da Luz Centre" - 18:27:58. Still today at 22:29:50, there is a record on the antenna "Budens". The one preceding it occurred on the antenna "Praia da Luz Centre" at 20:04:14, and the one after it occurs on "Praia da Luz" at 22:32:44. Budens -Another small old village on the edge of the main Lagos to Sagres road. Records date it back to at least the beginning of the 14th century. - Tracks to the north, however, can take you on a magical mystery tour into the National Forest and on to the west coast.  A road south leads to Boca do Rio.
Thurs Aug 2 Jon Corner Kates Parents	TRIANGLE 2nd August Pings- Gerry on his own ~18:30 - ~20:30 Trip to Huelva cancelled   Gerry McCann cancels trip to Huelva due to 'viral illness'.   PJ arrive at the McCanns' villa with Eddie and Keela   Around 18:00pm, the Inspectors knock on the door of the McCanns villa. Jon Corner states in the Panorama documentary that the McCanns were forewarned of this forensic visit and that there were clothes in the washing machine when the Inspectors arrived.   Cadaver odour is indicated on two pieces of Kate's clothing (trousers and blouse), on a red T-shirt believed to belong to Madeleine and on the soft toy known as 'Cuddle Cat'.     Search of McCanns villa - summary from 'The Truth of the Lie'    - When preparing to go to the McCann's villa with the dogs, everyone knew this was the moment to either take up a technical and legal instrument which could assign responsiblity, or fully remove from suspicion, Madeleine's parents in her disappearance. - We knew, then, that we had failed when we decided to not wiretap and follow the friends and McCanns from the beginning of the investigation. - The Public Ministry (MP) created the proper search documents. At the same time, they asked for authorisation to wiretap the villa and car at that time. The MP agreed, as it's been used in other cases. 24 anxious hours later the sitting Judge, covering for someone on holiday, denied the MP's agreement. No time to re-request, the last chance to know what the McCanns said away from the press microphones was gone, just as the couple prepared to leave the country. - The search was planned in great detail. - The villa is on Rua das Flores, 27, rented at the beginning of the summer with money donated to the Find Madeleine Fund. - At 6pm-ish, the inspectors knocked on the door. Kate and Gerry were giving the twins a bath in the exterior pool. Surprisingly, they both reacted well to the search warrant and in a forthright and open way gave unlimited access to the investigators. - Eddie started, going directly to the living room where on top of a chair was cuddlecat, which now had a little green ribbon and rosary around its neck. Again, Eddie showed his 7 years of experience dedicated to forensic crime scene work and, with a determined and affirmative bark, indicated that CuddleCat had been in contact with a cadaver. - Using cardboard boxes, all the clothes in the house were taken to a specially prepared area to be placed on the ground for the dogs. - At 23h20 all the clothes are spread out. Again, Eddie marks a strong cadaver odor on Kate's clothes: slacks in black/white check and a sleeveless white blouse. He barks frenetically. - Keela finds no blood vestiges..	Gerry's blog: Today was a bit of a write off for me as I was laid low with a probable viral illness which meant I could not stray too far from the house! I did manage to get through some e-mails, telephone calls and some paperwork. Feeling a bit better tonight so hopefully be back to normal tomorrow. Kate did manage to put up some of the new Madeleine posters in shops around Praia da Luz.. It is noticably busier, now that we are in August, with lots of tourists many of whom are from Portugal. The figures from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children show that one in six kids are recovered after being recognised from a poster. Such statistics do encourage us that relatively simple measures may be effective in helping us find Madeleine.   2nd... Another Budens trip this evening. Ping at Luz Centro at 18:11 then Budens at 18:32 followed by an activation in Luz at 18:43. Then 5 more Budens pings between 19:16 and 19:18 followed by a ping back in PdL Centro at 20:37    2nd - Only Gerry has Budens pings this evening. Six in total From that return until 18:11:08 on 2nd, there exist records only on the repeaters of Luz. The subsequent records show Gerald McCann leaving the village up to at least Budens, with a brief passing in Luz: 18:32:05 - "Budens"; 18:43:56 - "Praia da Luz"; 19:16:15, 19:16:48, 19:17:10, 19:17:35 and 19:18:09 - "Budens"; and 20:37:35 - "Praia da Luz Centre". On this day searches were made in the house in which the McCann were living.

A child therapist says she is '100% sure' she saw Madeleine at a restaurant in the town of Tongeren, not far from the Dutch border. A bottle is taken for DNA testing but turns out to be that of a man.   The 'sighting' actually took place on 28 July 2007. Covered here   After the return, on 3rd all the antennae activated between 1:18:24 and 20:34:52 are those that serve Praia da Luz, with the exception of the antenna "V.R. de Santo Ant?io on which is registered at 13:38:00. Consulting the news database kept by the Police, it is seen in the newspapers Jornal de Noticias and 24Horas, of 4th, the news of the presence of the couple McCann in Huelva, on 3rd, hence the record on that antenna next to the border with Spain.	Gerry's blog: It is exactly 3 months since Madeleine was abducted. Kate and I had an early start as we drove to Huelva, 50Km over the border from Portugal in Southern Spain. We were meant to go yesterday but had to cancel because I was ill.   Unfortunately it was a public holiday in Huelva and the large shopping centre we planned to visit was closed. We did distribute posters in several garages, taxi ranks and the bus and train stations and gave out some Madeleine wristbands. This was definitely a worthwhile exercise, as many people did not seemingly recognise Madeleine but we did get a very warm response from the Spanish people we met. We would encourage everyone to continue taking posters on holiday but please ask permission before putting them up in public places.   When we arrived back in Praia da Luz we did a couple of media interviews to building up to August 11th, which will mark 100 days if Madeleine is still missing. There will be a lot of media activity next week reviewing Madeleine's abduction, the investigation and of course the campaign to help find her. It is an opportunity to highlight that we have not given up hope and are still optimistic of being reunited with Madeleine.   Tonight we prayed for Madeleine at a vigil in the church. This has happened every Friday since Madeleines abduction and was very well attended tonight, probably due to the greater number of tourists in the resort.   3rd... Two pings at 01:18 in the early hours and another at 03:18. Morning's activity starts at 06:45. Last ping of the morning comes at 07:22 in PdL Centro, which is then followed by a very large gap (trip to Huelva). The next ping back in Luz comes at 16:28. The only activation in those 9 hours comes at 13:38 in Vila Real de Santo Antonio, which is located right at the far Eastern end of the Algarve right next to the Spanish border. (No Spanish records available.) Given the time, this must have been on his way back. Last ping of the day at 20:34 (early night?)  3/8 Reported trip to Huelva in Spain. Records only account for activations within Portugal. First activation of the day comes at 08:49 in ‘Assumadas 2’ (just North of Loule, around 10 miles N/NW of Faro). Then nothing until 13:45 in Tavira (just over 10 miles from the Spanish border). Pings then consistent with travel back to Luz, arriving at 14:38. However, then follows 5 pings at Lagos (Santa Maria) between 14:49 & 15:22 then back in Luz at 16:13. Gap : 19:48 - 21:51  3rd - Only G has a few pings in the small hours of this morning (at 01:18 & 03:18). Both travel to Huelva. But where as Kate has several activations on the Portuguese side of the journey (Spanish records not available), Gerry only has one, being one at 13:38 at the Spanish border. Because of this, only K has pings in Lagos (Santa Maria) following a single ping back in Luz after returning from Huelva, but it may be a rogue activation.
Sat Aug 4 Jon Corner leaves Kates Parents	Saturday August 4 • Police launch a second search of Robert Murat's house. Mrs McCann speaks for the first time of her regret at leaving her daughter on the night she disappeared. She also discloses that as she tucked Madeleine into bed that night, the little girl said: "Mummy, I've had the best day ever. I'm having lots and lots of fun." It is likely that some of the British Broadcasters will also come back out.
