As an off-road enthusiast, I used to off-road and camp on the hills around the Alzejur and Monchique area with both my 4x4 and my all terrain bike quite often. Portugal is a paradise for off roader's . There is an immense net of dirt tracks and fire breaks and your aloud in most of them. A great portion of the land is cultivated with eucalyptus forests, but there is still many uncultivated areas with dense bushes, rocks, creeks and valleys. Places that are not often visited by humans. If in one hand, one would need a 4x4 to get to these places,on the other hand, it would not be hard to drive on a regular car on the dirt tracks and then hike for a mile or so to an isolated spot, dig a grave under some bushes and cover it with rocks. Some basic navigation knowledge would be needed in order not to get lost on the way back. This could all be done within 3 hours and the chances of the body being found would be extremely slim. Its quite common for tourists to venture themselves on those tracks with rented cars so it wouldn't raise suspicion a car parked on the side of a track and people wondering around. Its been a good six years since i last drove on that area, but i wouldn't think that it has changed a lot, apart from some forrest fires.
---------------- You sound just the right person to go searching! Fancy a holiday, DD7?
I would love to visit some old friends there and drink home made "medronho" on the the privet distilleries up on the hills, however the local boys who off-road on those hills every week would be far better than me. I know a few 4x4 dare devils from that area that would be more than happy to assist the PJ on a eventual search.

TripZ!! the serial bomber turned animal cremator is often overlooked. Amazing, ain't it? This is one of the many reasons I lean toward premeditated. Sheesh, how is that guy even out of prison, let alone having access to more FIRE for pete's sake???
The odd couple with the English accent who didn't bother to take Lassie's ashes like every other dog lover.....hmmmm

I would agree his profile is very much that of a criminal and "if" a large wad of cash was presented to him to dispose of a body would he be of a type to refuse and then contact the police?
this thread could hold a fundamental key to unlocking the whereabouts of M.
Thank you, Vilipend! Yours is very nce, too. Like many, I have a deep love for Portugal because of, well, you know.
So , Tripz, someone with good research skills will need to delve into the history of Mr. Hoos. But heck, doesn't "serial bomber" sort of say it all? Cremation is not exactly a pretty career, either. I wonder what he did before being a bomber. Maybe some laboratory.....hopefully not the food service indusry....eh. The sharp sleuths will have to research this, but I think t has possbilities. (but then of course I would)
