Great post. They need to be stopped asap. It concerns me greatly that other like minded people will see the money rolling in and seek to emulate them. To a sick minded person this could seem an easy way to fame and riches. So for the sake of other children it needs to be shown that there are severe consequences for neglect at the very least and the book thrown at them for anything else that can be pinned on them. The government could at least bring in a statute that anyone under suspicion in the disappearance of a loved one cannot financially gain from it. Any fund that the general public wished to put together should never be administered by people related or known to victim's family. That would be a good legacy for Madeleine, an end to the blood money.

Well done Hippy Chick - definitely one of the best posts I.ve ever read on the forum, agree with every word, ( I intend to print it out and give to my good friend and colleague who still believes in their innocence.) you should send to the letters page of all the papers and see who would dare print it.
It may have been a great post in your estimation, but not in mine. Have you considered that the McCanns are innocent and all the words in the English language will not be sufficient to hide your shame when Kate and Gerry are eventually exonerated???
There willl be some red faces on the forum when this day comes because I have never doubted their innocence from day one. Guilty of neglect yes, but never murder, or complicity in murder.

Do you think they could be guilty of covering up an accidental death? [quote]
NO Not until such a charge is proven in a court of law. When that happens I will gladly concede the argument.

Hi Tiberius - I don't say in the post that Kate and Gerry murdered Madeleine - regardless of what my own views are - the post responds to their neglect - the neglect that led, they say, to an abduction by a paedophile ring. At the hands of a paedophile ring, the child is very unlikey to be alive. The evidence strongly points to her being dead, "if she's dead, then she's dead..." I don't accuse the McCanns of murder, so please don't read something and misconstrue it. You're entitled to your views, personally, they are totally irrelevant to me. If you feel the post is rubbish - fine - leave the thread alone and enjoy others.

A long time since I came in here to comment but feel I have to congratulate hippy chick on this excellent post. I am sick of seeing the McCanns plastered over the newspapers. My thought on an organized paedophile ring is why didn't they take all three children, they were there for the taking.
