Just having a scene now about a little girl dieing in an accident and the mother not being told.

I don't ussually watch it, It's on in the background, but it seemed WIERED SCENE.

AT LEAT THE SHEEPLE, will think :D

Watch the repeat when it's on, something about a little girl slipping in the bath and hitting her head. :-o

bbc news 24 about neglect
change in law from 14 JULY no less to prosecute child abusers in the uk if the abuse is a crime in the uk but committed abroad
programme on police dogs next tuesday
changes to laws on witness statements
the recent court failure vis a vis soca/lp
some not so fawning newspaper reports recently and more negative readers comments being allowed
brunty and other journalists asking a few questions
there was something else but i forget now

could all be coincidences and we are linking them to aspects of the case :-?

I was watching this and nearly fell off the sofa!

Her father (Samantha Janus)was telling her that her child had died in an accident, having slipped in the bath and hit her head.

Beforehand, he was describing her daughter as having been blond, with blue eyes and beautiful, like she herself had been at that age!

She had the daughter when she was very young and the child was taken off her by her father and she thought that the child had been adopted.

I am gobsmacked!

Yeah, i don't normally watch it, But Sam is a bit of nice eye-candy

, and when it was mentioned about the little blond blue eyed girl, I nearly snapped my neck turning to watch what ws going on.
So all you Eastenders fans watch the omnibus edition at the weekend and give us your oppinions, has this mystery child just come into Eastenders legend or has it been established in the story line before now. ???

Not sure if it's been an ongoing story for a long time or not but - and not that it matters, her daughter isn't actually dead, her father is just being evil.

I must admit i used to follow eastenders all the time, now its a case of if i am not doing any thing then i will watch it i think how this story came about was when her sister got pregnant by that scruffy lad (is it sean?).

So i think this is where it is all coming from, she wanted to get in touch with her child who she gave up and thats as much has i know folks sorry.

The fact that she'd had a child at 14 was mentioned a good few weeks ago.
Her father made her give it up for adoption.
Whether or not he has now told her the truth remains to be seen... but as someone above has mentioned... I doubt it!

Neglect = mentioned 3 times 8->

"It happens all the time" ie: a little child slipping and dying in the bath 8->

Yes, something is bubbling under in media-land. It is as if the media moguls are buttering up public opinion to be receptive to hard facts - a sort of spin-buster offensive. Timing is very interesing.

Yes I wondered about that one ??

Perhaps it would be worth finding out from the production team where they got the Idea for this particular story line ??
And I'n not going to do that one as I refuse to appear to be a fan of this particular show.

I'm from the US and watch EastEnders as often as it's on, but don't think we're seeing the new ones.

As for the show (media) directing their story line toward something possibly happening in the present to a child we all are reading about, there is a show in the US called LAW AND ORDER that produces scripts displaying stories that mimic real incidents happening at present. Of course they run a disclaimer in the credits declaring the script does not contain or follow any REAL incidents. Sure.

Sorry, not watched Eastenders for ages.

Is the story line

Girl has baby at 14 years old

She is told by parents it must be given up for adoption

She wants to find out where the baby is

Her father tells her the child was a blond, blue eyed girl, just like she had been at the same age but tragically the child fell in the bath, hit her head and drowned

But really the child is not dead after all?

Do we know where she is?

Do my eyes deceive me or have I just read some posts claiming that a storyline on Eastenders is in some way relevant to the Madeleine McCann case?
