Not sure if this got overlooked, but it's worth repeating - if only for balance.
In a statement, Branson stressed that his donation shouldn't be seen as a proclamation of the McCanns' innocence: "In the midst of all of this speculation and rumor, we must remember there is a family in pain and a little four-year-old girl is still missing. We must not lose sight of this fact. It is the only solid fact we know. The search for Madeleine must not let up for one moment." Says McQuillan: "Richard is a family man himself, and he's very conscious of the fact that there are other family members who are all affected by this. He wanted to do a small thing to relieve some of the burden from the family."

Jacqui Mcquillan appears as the McCanns 'spokesperson' here --- how many do they have?

Thank you because I had not read it before.
I only wish it made sense.
1." Branson stressed that his donation shouldn't be seen as a proclamation of the McCanns' innocence"
But then the quote from Branson is:
"a little four-year-old girl is still missing. We must not lose sight of this fact. It is the only solid fact we know. The search for Madeleine must not let up for one moment"
So he's agreeing with team mccann that the child is "missing' and can be "found." He's not accepting what the police say, that she is dead and the mccann's are suspects.

Sorry, Branson. You can't have it all ways.
Take the heat if you're going to support them.
I believe he jumped in feet first, not really knowing much about the case, this was his usual publicity jaunt, we don't hear much about him now, wonder if he is still supporting, or has he backed off

----- Hi Ziggy!
It looks he has, anyway from what he was saying in September,it wasn't a blind :"They are above my suspicions"...it was an in-case, as he wasn't convinced by the PJ maybe,,,nor by them!
He's a good guy,he did it for Maddy and extended family ,well it's the way I see it anyway!
im not saying branson does not help good causes and his heart is in the right place - however he does not help everyone and a few years ago refused to help with a flight for a family who had to go abroad when a minor MAY have been involved in a crime!! he could not get involved with anything that would allow anyone to benefit from crime
hes changed his tune! but then again this was around 10 years ago and its his own money to do what he wants with but still its playing a different fiddle!
